MOVE-OUT, GET SCREWED!!!

POST OAK = THIEVES!!!

I was a resident of Post Oak from 02/2006 - 10/2006. The stay was fine with the exeption of the scalding water issue. At a certain time, and for hours, the water will turn scalding hot!!! This happened the entire 9 months I was there. There was also the HUGE snake that appeared on my balcony & the ant issue that was taken care of only by myself. On with the main issue...

I moved out of Post Oak 11/01/2006. I called 45 days later to see about my deposit refund. I was told that it would be sent within the week. After not receiving it, I called again... they then said that they had to keep it for cleaning the apartment, and water utilities. Now, I cleaned the apartment ceiling to floor upon move-out. Also, water is paid with rent.

I applied at another apartment complex on 10/08/2007. They advised that they cannot rent to me because the "debt" from Post Oak has been placed on my credit amount: $203.90 with Rent Debt, Inc. (a collector). I wrote RDI asking for an itemized statement. OMG!!! Post Oak stated that I did not pay a deposit, that I owe for 4 months of water utilities, late fees, rent for 2 days after lease, & month to month premiums after lease!!! I AM OUTRAGED!!!

On 10/11/2007, I consulted an attorney and was instructed to formally dispute each item. I also enclosed the receipt from the moving company that moved me out on 11/01/2006. Post Oak is stating they didn't receive the keys until 11/02/2006. So that I can move, I have paid the amount to RDI, and after the dispute is resolved... I will be seeking refund of that amount, refund of my deposit, an apology letter, and them to fix my credit. I will keep you posted as the days go by.

**UPDATE**:
On 10/11/2007, I faxed Post Oak a request to pull my lease agreement and have it faxed. They advised me it would take 24 hours. After 24 hours, I called again... -------- stated that she would fax it right then. I still have not received it as of 10/13/2007 09:00. **DO NOT MOVE HERE UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED FOR A FIGHT AFTER MOVE-OUT OR UNLESS YOU OWN A VIDEO CAMERA TO RECORD THEM AT THE FINAL WALK THROUGH. I WILL BE DOING SO FROM NOW ON!!!
