After reading all the comments about POP - I think that it depends on the section you live in - I have lived in two different buildings and the building I live in now is very different from the first one - which was near the front of property. It is fairly quiet in my present location -first one was a different story - police called constantly, very shady looking guy always outside digging through the junk in the back of his red and white pickup-strange people hanging around that obviously weren't residents, etc. etc.. He wasn't even a resident of complex but was always there. Haven't seen him lately - maybe he got committed or whatever - he was definitely disturbed. Never got a satisfactory answer about why he was in complex. I am not Section 8 - am "mature" age but and have lived in some very pricey apts in the past, moved here due to job and dip in earnings that are part of the economy. Anyone looking for apt should observe the area around the apt before they lease - easy to see what is around - one gas station, one bar, no shopping close by - etc. Those items are not Management's fault - they were there when you moved in for you to observe. Management's job is to lease apts - do your own investigating before you sign. Ask residents you see walking when you are driving through - you will get an idea of the climate and atmosphere. No apt is perfect - and all will try to sell you on their features. Drive around the area -you will see what the neighborhood consists of before you lease. No excuse for the long time non functioning gate - it was supposed to be finished by March 2 - still isn't. No gate is perfect - if someone wants in they will get in - gates just make it a little harder. Not sure about the utilities - water is very high but it is up to you to keep your electric usage wisely. Mine is very low for the size apt I have (sun room). Tearing down the wooden gate between convenience store and apt has helped - easy to see what goes on now and police seem to be more visible at the CS now. Another issue - this is Fort Worth territory - not Euless - even though we have Euless Post Office service - Fort Worth police are the ones who answer 911 calls. Only issue I have had is with Yolanda - she is totally incompetent - lies, rude, can't figure out why they keep her - Karen is wonderful and very helpful. Yolanda sends back packages or gives them to wrong apt owner. No apologies. Need to be gone from property. The other apts around here have the same problems - some worse than this one. Just my opinion - and everyone makes or breaks their own apt experience to a certain extent. Every race here is guilty of not picking up after their pets - call code enforcement - that is Euless and it does get checked - I have done it and seen it work. Maintenance is bad because they aren't paid enough to work here and keep good people. Parking is better since the issue of parking stickers. There is limit to how many people are allowed to live in apts - if you think more than allowed are living there call code enforcement, Apt Association, anyone else you can think of. That is against lease agreement.
Drugs are everywhere - I lived in pricey apt in West Fort Worth - ?0.00/mth - major cocaine bust there - high profile people arrested - see something suspicious - call police.
