We have lived at Seramont for almost 4 weeks now, and we have not yet been able to really move in and live in this space we are paying 1,500 a month for!! From the day we were moving in we have had a huge problem with gnats!! Disgusting! These pesky and relentless bugs were here before we moved in, and apparently they don't plan on moving out. The office staff has been slow to make this problem go away. This problem should have been dealt with head on when we first moved in a made a complaint. Almost 4 weeks later they are still "trying to solve the problem." Whatever! It is not acceptable. These bugs fly around in your face...it is often the first thing I wake up to in the morning. They land on your tooth brush, they are all over the bathrooms, and they have taken over the kitchen. Every time I open the refrigerator there is more of them laying in there dead. We have no pets, take out the trash very often, have tried the drain gels, and everything else we have been told to do....and still the bugs refuse to move out. We have yet to be able to really use our kitchen or unpack our dishes. The children have not been able to eat one meal here without literally hovering over their plate...eating it as fast as they can before a bug lands on it. You cannot leave any food out for even 30 seconds without gnats landing on it. We do not eat meals here because it is so gross. We eat in our car or at a friend's house. There is no way we can cook....the bugs would be all in the food. I find them in the pantry in food....it has to be thrown away. Plus, we lived here three weeks!!!! without a working dishwasher!!!! Needless to say, we have not been able to unpack our kitchen yet and get settled. In these 4 miserable weeks at Seramont we have also had to call the office about a very loud rattling noise in our air conditioning vent...that had to be fixed already. The security is a joke here...the gate seems to be open a lot, and the door to the clubhouse is broken and not locked. The quality of the workmanship in this apartment is very poor. There are a ton of sloppy painting areas...around baseboeards, etc. There are gaps between the carpet and the edges of the walls in areas. The walls must be paper thin because you can hear voices from neighbors next door. I would say they did a very moderate cleaning job before we moved in here. They should have done a more deep clean and been more detail oriented in cleaning the cabinets and surfaces, etc. I have cleaned make-up spots, and gook and grime in many places that was here before we arrived. The grout in the showers had not been cleaned well. Instead of cleaning up stuff like HAIRS on the woodwork before painting it they just paint on top of them. I have gone to try and clean up hairs on things from the previous renters only to find I can't remove it because it has been sealed to the surface with a paint touch up job. On top of all that, we live with these awful gnats!!

Seramont may look nice from the outside, but come on in the units and see for yourself. It is so not worth the money. I hate living here. I try to stay gone as much as possible, and I can't wait until we can move out!!! It is such a shame that our children have had to live with bugs for 4 weeks now in what is suppost to be a nicer complex. I will tell you...it is not....keep on looking. I urge you to read the other negative reviews posted here because I agree with so much of the things other renters have complained about at Seramont. Please take this bad review seriously, and don't decide to move to Seramont if you can help it. I promise....I live here now...and I can't wait to leave. It makes me sick to pay for the 4 weeks we have lived here.

I also have gnat problems! I agree that Seramont is not worth the money.

We're former residents at Seramont. We never had the gnat problem. We did, however, have upstairs neighbors who regularly tossed their cigarette butts on top of our car that was parked in OUR driveway. They also occasionally spilled drinks or other liquids on our car. Management was notified regularly - and did nothing. Nothing. I, too, wrote a review here shortly after moving in. I still would say that, overall, I liked living at Seramont. We had a few issues, but overall, I was satisfied. HOWEVER - what this poster is describing is, IMHO, a health hazard and I would encourage the family to contact Tarrant County Health Services (although, admittedly, it's now been five months since they posted). This gnat problem is totally UNACCEPTABLE and management has a responsibility to correct it. The fact that they hadn't after four weeks is also UNACCEPTABLE. If *I* had read this before I moved, I would NOT have moved to Seramont.

The bug problem is probably do to your own hygiene. And it doesn't just sound like gnats are the issue, sounds like weevils (SP?) and that is caused by you not storing your food properly.
