Stoneleigh @ BC - Take Caution!
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 4/30/2008
Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
The troubles began even before my wife and I moved in. The staff at the time was very curteous and friendly (May '07), and we signed applications for a 2bd/2bth with an attached garage. They called my a week later saying that "Our new resident system is different than our internal transfer system, and someone in the complex had already applied for the same apartment." Needless to say, we got screwed and were very upset. This is one reason why I enjoyed the complex: the staff then went and got us into the largest 2bd/2bth (3rd floor w/ 1 covered spot) for the same price as the original apt, a savings of over $400 per month (market rate was $1350, we paid $898), and we got our first month free. The maintenance crews were slow, and I usually requested the extra lightbulbs & air filters in person. My gate remote broke, it took me 3 weeks to get a new one! The staff changed again in early '08, and it has taken me numerous visits to get anything done. Some friends even moved in and used us as referrals, but we haven't gotten the bonus $ to date (almost a month later)! The complex itself is very nice (watch out for lack of parking), but watch out for the staff. Our stay was tainted from the beginning, and we never got the sour taste out of our mouths. Take caution:
- Verify that the apartments they show open are in fact open and not already taken by someone in the complex (transfer) - WRITE DOWN THE APT # THEY TELL YOU!
- They have at least 20 different layouts, so what you see in the brochure is not always what you get - look at the apt if possible (we thought we'd have a combo tub/shower in the guest bth, turned out to be just a shower only)
- They have to have everything (and I mean everything) in writing - And you have to use their forms!
- Be persistent with the staff - you have to stay on top of them or they will forget about you
- Parking can be a major issue, try to get a covered spot/garage (they won't rent those separately, they come with certain apts)
- Multiple times the gates broke down, making it easy for theft to occur. You will see from other reviews that cars and apartments were broken into. These people were caught and arrested, but it doesn't make you feel very safe (1 reason I actually enjoyed the 3rd floor). They do have a Euless PD officer who lives in the complex and does patrol at night, but it can only help so much.
Again, the complex is really nice and we enjoyed out apt, but the staff ruined it for us. Be very detailed and persistent with them and you should be ok. I hope what happened to us doesn't happen to you.
I do not recommend moving here b/c of the staff. If the staff/management company were to change, I might think differently. Again, great complex, poor staff (I can't say it enough)
