I am a new resident at Village on Post Oak Apartments in Euless (VOPO) and am not affiliated with VOPO or the property management company or their staff members. I first saw this property in October 2008 and had put down a deposit on the apartment I wanted by November, even though my lease at my former complex didn't expire until the end of February 2009. I've been here for almost 3 months -- and I love it! I am aware of this property's previous, not-so-stellar reputation, and have read the negative reviews posted here by former residents. However, I can say in all honesty that those poor ratings and reviews are no longer applicable and this property deserves another look.
Village on Post Oak is now managed by Pace Realty Corporation (Pace) -- a very well-established, reputable, and professionally-staffed property management and consulting firm headquartered in Dallas. I checked them out online before I even considered putting down a deposit. Pace has instituted stricter leasing requirements and community policies regarding management and resident conduct and responsibilities at VOPO, and is also making physical improvements to the property and grounds to provide a comfortable and secure environment for the residents. The rehabilitation of a 25-year old property like this is not accomplished overnight, but the improvements are ongoing, and I'm glad to see this beautiful piece of property being appreciated and cared for properly -- beautiful landscaping, secured access, new stockade fences around the dumpsters and on other areas of the property, new and more-secure mail boxes, pavement repairs, etc., etc. -- every time I step out my door I see something being repaired, refurbished, or replaced.
My apartment was completely "redone" and is very spacious and just gorgeous! It has large, "paned" windows with mini-blinds, a balcony with full-length sliding doors and vertical blinds, high ceilings, upscale flooring, countertops, plumbing and lighting fixtures, two-tone paint, tiled fireplace, as well as updated, brand-name appliances, plus full-size washer/dryer hookups, plenty of closet and kitchen storage space, and a wonderful view of the trees -- and great square-footage for the price. Granted, the floors aren't perfectly level and the corners aren't perfectly square (I don't know of any 25-year old building or house that's "perfect"). Nevertheless, it's "bones" are sound, and the rest is all about proper management, maintenance, and responsible residents. It is so quiet and peaceful here -- my neighbors are all very nice and I've never even heard anyone else's stereo or television!
Over the years, I have lived in apartments and owned homes throughout the DFW area, as well as in other states, and even another country, and I've never felt safer in my home or community than I do here. Although my apartment is situated near the Texas Railway Express (TRE) tracks, the train makes less noise passing than an airplane flying overhead. Most of the time, I don't even notice the train, and the tracks are almost completely obscured by the trees -- and as long as those tracks are there, the trees will be there, too. Also, the surrounding area is very pretty and heavily wooded with a nearby nature preserve, plus there are a couple of small, upscale shopping centers nearby, as well as easy access to Hwy 360, DFW airport and the entire metroplex, and a TRE station just a mile or two down the road -- a very safe and convenient location for commuters.
My experience with the VOPO office and maintenance staff has been great! The atmosphere is casual and friendly, yet professional, and everyone on the staff has been helpful, courteous, respectful, and responsive. Professional property management and maintenance by a well-trained, experienced, skilled, and trustworthy staff makes all the difference in any apartment community. I worked on staff with corporate executives and other professionals for more than 25 years, and I truly appreciate and value the professional conduct consistently exhibited by the entire VOPO staff. As improvements to this property continue to be made, I'm sure there will eventually be a waiting list for those wanting to lease here. I'm so happy to have discovered this property ahead of the crowd, and I'm quite certain that I'll be content making my home here for many years to come.

Dear LadyCruz123: I am so sorry for you that you feel compelled to deliberately seek out others to attack, demean, defame, and discredit by making unsubstantiated accusations against people you don't even know, thereby fostering what can only be described as petty, malicious gossip. Unfortunately for you, attacking others this way only serves to reveal you as a petty, malicious person, instead of the "intellectual skeptic" you were hoping to appear to be. I am not a liar, and I am not affiliated with Pace or anyone else. I am disabled and too old to be apartment hopping, and this is probably the last move I'll ever be able to make. I was looking for a safe, affordable, and comfortable place to live for the years I have left, so I did my research in order to make an informed decision. I have never walked through this world oblivious to my fellow humans or my surroundings, and I certainly cannot afford to do so now. There are a lot of people who, like me, worked their entire lives only to find themselves unexpectedly disabled and on a significantly-decreased fixed income, but who are not eligible for assistance with housing, or food, or transportation, or utilities, or anything else. And there are many more around my age who are going to be retiring soon with a lot less than they thought they had set aside because of the current economic downturn. They're not going to be taking their dream cruises around the world or building their dream homes. Instead, they are going to be looking for a safe, affordable, quiet place to live where a knowledgeable and trustworthy staff will be maintaining the yard, the electrical, the plumbing, the heating and A/C, and all the other things they can no longer do themselves or can't afford to pay someone else to do for them. I wrote my review with as much detail as possible to share with them the benefits of my experience and research, and with anyone else who just wants a decent, affordable place to live with a professional staff and responsible neighbors who respect the property and each other. You could make better use of your time and energy, LadyCruz123, seeking opportunities to be constructive and encouraging, and to help make this world a little better place for your fellow humans, instead of searching for opportunities to inflict injury and do harm. By making the world better for others, it can only be a better place for you, as well. I sincerely hope that you never find yourself in circumstances similar to mine and so many others; but, if you do, try to be a help rather than a hindrance -- we have more than enough of those already.

Oh, stop...your language and familiarity of the "obvious" issues on the property alert people to the fact that you are obviously associated with "PACE" mgmt in one form or another...The very fact that you started off your conversation with "I am not affiliated with VOPO" makes you quite the candidate for being a staff member!! Nice try.......

@ newresident, You appear to be very pompus and the fact that you have to use such big words only proves your obvious insecurities of appearing unintelligent to strangers. Your need to be validated by strangers on the internet is quite sad and can only be attributed to the lack of love you received as a child, see I watch Dr Phil too! anyhow I called this place the guy who answered the phone was very rude, if he took any customer service training he would know first impressions are everything.. these apartments are not for me!
