I have lived at Westdale Hills for over two years, and I have learned to hate this place. The construction is out of date and falling apart, and that means sky high utility bills, especially if you have vaulted ceilings or a carport underneath. Last winter we paid sometimes $350 for heat, because the doors and windows are not sealed properly and no matter what you do the heater never shuts off. The summer electric bills are the same. The management has changed and now they're raping the residents with allocated water- meaning that if you're like me, with a husband and two children (2 and 4 months), you pay for FOUR people's worth of water because the children are counted as occupants on the lease. My bill went from $15 this time last year to $75 last month. We have one bathroom and we don't even have washer/dryer connections! The water addendum is misleading and does not mention that by agreeing to the change in water billing, you will be quadrupling what you pay for water. I have never broken a lease in my life, but I am seriously considering it now.

I've been here many years and this is the first time I'm not pleased. My water bill went from 10 to 13 dollars or so, to 35 in one month! It would have been nice if they would have notified me. If I'm understanding the explanation correctly, a few months ago, one tennant complained. He was in a larger apt. with only one other person and paying high water bills and noticed another smaller apt. with maybe 3 or 4 people (unknown to managment I suppose) and they paid what should be paid for a 1 bedroom. I can understand his anger. There must have been others who complained because management decided to up the percentage and now we're All paying more. I've noticed myself that in my area where there are one bedroom apts., more than 2 people are living. I wish I had my own water meter and I'll bet the bill would be quite a bit lower. Be aware that if you decide to move, more and more apt. complexes are using this allocation system. As for the heat and air....I bought thermal curtains which have helped alot.

First of all the city has gone up over 50% on charging the office I called into the main office in Dallas and talked with someone there and the called the city to conferm what they had told me. The city has gone up. yes the apts have but only $5.00, the rest has been the city. Have ya'll not relized everything else going up, duh why not the water. Wow get use to it.... I have lived in other communities where you pay for what you really use and belive me this is much better. I live in a one bedroom just me and was paying 80.00 dollars a month this is good over here. So cry about someting else!!!!!!

*Clap Clap* Do the employees get extra money to post this garbage? I am here to tell you that what Exdancer2002 wrote is a blatent lie. Westdale Hills DOES have the power to change water prices but since they can only over charge on the apartments so much, they have to make up for the loss of money somewhere. I went to do a new lease and they tried whipping a new rent price on me that was 10 bucks OVER the market rent for that apartment (according to their price book) so they ARE crooks! They try to say we have to use their cable and its a LAW that says they can't but I will say it again, they are CROOKS! Their lack of professionalism is astonishing. 3/4 of the office staff looks like frumps who slept in their clothes, some of them stink from lack of bathing or due to the alcohol seeping through their skin (so bad sometimes that the fumes almost got me drunk), to the so called manager who sits in the office eating smelly food talking smack about residents when the manager SHOULD pay attention to the looks and smells of the employees and their cyber habits. The more people who call and complain the sooner that place is as nice as it was 20 years ago. Recapping: Westdale Hills CAN lower water, they only upped it so they could try and sqeeze more money from us it was NOT due to the water department so don't let them fool you! www.westdale.com then choose "contact us"
