I'd recommend it

I'm rewriting my review now that I've moved somewhere else. I really did like living at UWS. It's close enough to Sundance Square to walk, but far enough away to be removed from most of the traffic and construction. The garage parking is really nice and something I miss. My apartment was very clean and well maintained when I moved in. But there were a few problems that people keep mentioning in the reviews.
1. They have a sugar ant infestation. I went to the office to ask about what to do when I found the first swarm in my apartment. They said there wasn't much they could do because sugar ants are resistant to sprays, but gave me some traps to try. The traps did nothing, but I found Raid Ant & Roach spray did the trick. When I found a trail of ants coming out of a box of cereal in the pantry, I just traced it to the hole they were entering through (spraying the entire trail) and sprayed in and around the hole and no ant ever used that hole again. But I did have to clean up a few hundred dead ants.
2. There are a lot of noisy college kids who don't care much about how the place looks. But it's Fort Worth. TCU kids are everywhere. You either have to find an apartment complex where they don't want to live or where they can't afford to live. And bad news: they want to live in all the nice apartment complexes in and around downtown. More bad news: their parents tend to be rich and it could cost you a fortune to live somewhere outside their price range. My advice would be when you first visit the complex (UWS or any complex), you should mention that you want to live somewhere quiet. I did and wound up in probably the quietest corner of the complex. My neighbors were all quiet.
So overall, I'd say it's a good place to live. And I'd recommend it to anyone. I think it's in better condition than the other complexes around it of similar age (Firestone). But it's getting older and buildings always start showing their age at some point. It's competitively priced for the location. And if you can't stand living around college kids in Fort Worth, your only option may be to move to the suburbs.
