im quickly finding out that apartments are there to make money without having to worry about customer service. appian way is a prime example of why there is a need for a governing body to monitor apartment practices. they had me fooled when i first walked into the leasing office. At $500 a month i wasnt expecting a stay at the four seasons but there were some amenities i expected. right at the beginning of summer my AC went out. it took them a day to come out and put in a freon recharge which lasted all of four hours. they then put a window unit in which would not cool down a bedroom let alone an apartment. after TWO MONTHS of complaining and getting the run around i finally submitted a letter. this resulted in some action; a maintenance man in my bathroom for two days installing a new AC. he told me they had this the whole time and could have installed it at the beginning. is that bad enough' there?s more. i come home one day and my 2nd car is gone. i call the answering service to get the courtesy officers # and got a hard time and no number. it turns out that although i had an arrangement with the staff (i told them my car was ugly but still functioned, they said it would be fine there) my car had been towed. $150!!!! i got the money back from the wrecking company after much hassel, no thanks to appian way. they could not care less. they then charged me a reletting fee when i moved out and never returned my calls when i tried to discuss it with them. turns out they say there was something i didnt pay. i asked the office staff what i needed to do when i turned in my key and gave my change of address. i guess they were too busy running a daycare in the office to keep track of their records. the girl at the desk told me i was good and the would send me a final statement to my new address. SURPRISE!!!! the management refuses to budge and now its on my credit report. if you want anything from an apartment make sure you get it in writing. if they say something is okay, make them write it down and sign it. the girl who rented me the apartment was very nice. everyone else was obviously hired to bury you. thanks appian way!! DO NOT LIVE HERE!!
