I was going to move into this apartment complex in order to be closer to work. I filled out the application and gave them the deposit of 150.00. I was told than in the event it was not approved I would get my money back. After the report came back the apt complex stated I need a double deposit to move in. Well I did not want to pay it, so I decided not to take the apartment. I was then told of the non- refunding of the deposit. I had a friend charge the amount on Discover and am now in the process of disputing it. He also went to the complex the very next day and talked to Jennifer. She said a refund is in order and will see it soon on the credit card. He has yet to see it back on the card! I strongly feel we are getting the run around and are taking advantage of. We both feel we are being lied to and cheated out of the 150.00 that is clearly due to us. This apartment community has a subsidizing income program that is about 40% of the residence we were told. My friend found out later that because of this, the apartment community can raise the rent when they want. That was a red flag to stay away. If this deposit amount is not refunded to us as we were told it would, this will go to the BBB. Then next steps will be taken until justice is served. We have been all but nice to this apartment complex, so if they insist on taking advantage of their residence (or even future ones), word will get around to stay away from this place! Please do not rent form here, they are crooks.
