I had the misfortune of renting here as well.
For starters, our apartment was INFESTED with roaches and other 'things' that we never identified. The office's answer: "well, we spray every Monday". Really' My husband is a personal trainer and therefore, makes his own hours. He was home on Mondays several weeks in a row. Did he ever see pest control' No.
Then, of course, is the gate issue. "You'll be fined if the gate gets broken". We paid $50 for 2 gate keys that we never had to use because the gates stayed open. People 'broke' the gates because they wouldn't open even if they had keys. Great system.
Ah, yes, then the parking stickers/towing. I could've sworn that upon signing the lease, the office took down our license plates and said "this is to show that you're a resident and avoid towing". Nope! We travel a lot and NEVER received any notice of 'parking stickers'. (Why would we need them' We're on 'file')Guess what'!' My truck got towed (at my expense, of course) at 3 in the friggin' morning! Now, there were 6 other cars (including my husband's and including one parked RIGHT NEXT TO MINE) that were in violation of
a)no parking sticker
b)no valid registration, and /or
c) no valid inspection.
Mine was only missing a little blue Coffee Creek sticker. Who's got towed' Mine. Who got a 48-hour 'notice' to correct their vehicles' You guessed it. EVERY FRIGGIN' BODY ELSE! The office's answer: "Well, we put a notice on your door". Well, when you got NO REPLY for a FREE sticker, that should've been your first clue, that MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, NOT EVERYBODY got your little notices.
Then, they try to kiss a$$ for awhile, hoping you're going to renew your lease....
Oh, and before I forget, I doubt people are just lined up to rent here, paying over $400/mo for a no-security, no-gated, cramped little living space that happens to sit, where' Right behind the friggin' railroad tracks!!! Oh yes! About 3 times a day (at least one of them occuring after midnight) you can hear the lovely sounds of the railroad right outside your very own home!! They should use that as a selling point.
