I moved into Crestwood Place a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it here! I was initially concerned about not having W/D connections (some of the larger apartments have them, and there are laundry facilities throughout the complex), but I fell in love with the wonderful staff, beautiful grounds, adorable apartments, and perfect location. The laundry definitely hasn't been a problem at all.
The complex has two sections. The older section was built back in the 1930s (I think) and has window units and gas heating and cooking (paid by the complex), which makes for very cheap utilities. A few of the older units have been updated with central heat and air and new kitchens. The older units have been very well maintained and have so much character - many even have the original hardwood floors. I specifically chose to live in a one bedroom, one bath, updated older unit, and it is absolutely gorgeous, especially with my furniture in it (see pictures). Its 718 sq. ft. and feels even bigger. The newer section was built in the 1980s and has central heat and air.
The location is fantastic! The other complexes in this area are either extremely expensive or not nice at all. Crestwood Place, however, is tucked back in a really nice, quiet neighborhood. I feel very safe here, the price is very reasonable, and I'm very close to downtown and the UNTHSC (0.9 miles). This is actually a great location for UNTHSC students, and many of us live here. The location is ideal for riding a bike to school, too, because the route is through neighborhood streets - safe and no traffic. Other residents shouldn't worry about students though...we're in medical school, so we're quiet and responsible.
One of the reasons I chose to live here is that the staff is so friendly, helpful, and caring. They live here, too, and they really care about the complex and the people who live here. Lisa made me feel so safe and comfortable....she's very protective of us single girls and there was even a welcome basket when I moved in! I've never had that happen before! Also, a pastor who lives here holds a Bible study in the office on Wednesdays and a small church service on Sundays.
The maintenance staff is very friendly and helpful. All my work orders have been taken care of VERY quickly and they insisted on installing my personal shower head for me. The complex is also very quiet so far. My neighbors are friendly and seem to be a calm and quiet bunch.
The grounds are beautiful! The buildings are colonial (or something like that) red brick, and look so cute against a backdrop of huge trees and lots of open green grass. There are even community provided lawn chairs throughout for people to lounge around in the shade. I'm getting a hammock to study in when it cools down! Also, all the shade really helps keep the apartments cool.
Overall, I love how peaceful and pleasant it is here. I am really enjoying studying in my adorable living room, looking out my cute, old-fashioned window at my beautiful complex.

I agree completely. Best apartment I have ever lived in. Great management! Best deal in town - very safe and quiet. Nice neighborhood - feels like a home, not just a rental.
