most felons never change their ways.. i've known several and they still do petty crimes and drugs. if u think your boyfriend changed his life.. your probably wrong... and he's probably lied right to your face. sucks to be you... and why are you responding to a 4 year old post anyway? looser. lmao.

I am a felon and I have been living straight for five consecutive years since it happened. It was a foolish, misguided act fueled by the ignorance of youth. My life has been destroyed and I cry every night before I go to sleep about how my daughter must suffer because of my youthful indescretion. But do I return to a life of crime? No. Those who cannot learn to think objectively are those who have never experienced the power of love for the good of humanity. I understand that a majority of people will never change, but I was never a criminal, I was only a confused child.

I was convicted of fraud when I was 18. I am now 37, married with 3 kids and I own a very successful consulting company where I employ 37 people. I changed my ways. Quite the intellegent person you are lizrob.

i have felonly charges and have not been convicted. i have made a huge turn around for my life. i have a great job and a girl who loves me dearly. im a part of my mom and dad's life again along with all my neices and nephews who have missed me so much. but i run into the whole problem of finding an apartment.....we have to live somewhere, its not like we arent human. we've made mistakes like anyone else, the only difference is we got caught and YOU havent. look in the mirror for once....what wrong things have you do, or have you already convinced yourself that youre perfect? b/c those are the ones who usually have something to hide....

There is a revolving door in the prison system because Felons can not secure descent housing. We are treated as if we are horrible people with no regard to circumstance. I have a felony. I am one of the kindest people you can ever meet. I do not use drugs, I am non violent. My offense was a financial crime YEARS ago. I have not gotten into ANY kind of trouble since. Here I sit trying to find a place to live and no one is even willing to give me a chance because it is company policy not to rent to felons. That is not fair and unethical.

26 years ago I committed a felony. Did my time, got out in 92. 16 years with no new crimes, no drug use, no problems at all. No problems other than dunderheads who on the one hand demand that I rehabilitate so I can rejoin society than on the other hand refuse to let me rejoin. Oh, other than pay taxes, that is. Thanks to the mortgage meltdown I lost my house of 12 years and am now living in a motel, at 900/month, because no one will let me rent an apartment.

There are people who have bare felony in their background who don't deserve to have to; far too many. It's a shamed that the law uses people to generate revenue to keep prison stock going up because most of the prison stock is owned by governing positions. And it's a shame that you are no longer innocent until proven guilty. Law is good but only when it is fair. Fair law is a thing of the past because of the self-righteousness of mankind. If Christ was physically walking this earth today He would be considered a convicted felon according to the law.

i suffer from schitzo-effective disorder and was very mentally unstable for many years. during these years i called 911 to go to the hospital and a police officer came out. In my state of confusion i thought he was a "park ranger" cus he was wearing all green . Long story short I touched him and got arrested and went to prison. (state of FL Battery on a LEO 3rd degree felony {"violent crime"}GAnd now due to bad mental health laws and everyone screaming "insanity " plea I am a felon and I can't find housing and I have never EVER gotten arrested for ANYTHING i don't even have a speeding ticket to my name. but I have been turned down for housing, jobs and even school because I am a felon. You know when I was in prison and saw repeat offenders (some on their 6th or 7th trip) I used to wonder "why would they come back here?" and now I know because the world makes it almost impossible to live a decent live out here and at least in prison you have a clean bed and 3 meals a day.

my father sufers from manic depression and other mental illenss and is a felon and 66 years old, he has been in and out of jail all his life but the system has done nothing to rehabilitate him at all after serving any of his sentences. He is now medicated and he goes back to the horrible trailor he lives in and can barely stand up with no shower besides the public one in the park. I have tried finding hime section 8 or senior housing but with his record there is nothing..but he has income disability??so he is back in a negative environment where all he sees is people selling drugs or themselves, you cant trust anyone and God forbid you leave your home for more than an hour because people will steel you blind.. unfortunatly I cant afford to give him a place to live but this system sucks..if they would give poeple the tools to better themselves and employee people that actually care maybe convicted criminals would believe that thier world can CHANGE hot instead of going back to the DARK side where all their demons live!!!and they have a roof over their head and hot meals. My father is fully aware of his mistakes but he has alot to live for including 4 grand daughter that love him I am so scared that if I dont get him out of this environment it will be the death of him.. I feel helpless..
