I agree with the last poster. Cars and apartments have been broken in to. Crime is a definite problem. When it is brought to the attention of management, they dismiss it by saying "Well, that happens everywhere." They have a patrol that looks for cars parked in two places (for towing purposes), but does not have ANY security. Please do not rent here. We will be leaving as soon as possible. Unfortunately we can not make everyone happy???Marine Creek Apartment Homes does enforce towing on our community in accordance to the TAA Lease Contract (Paragraph 21) that everyone signed prior to moving into their home. If your vehicle was towed from our premises there was a reason???I believe being double parked and taking up 2 spaces violates the towing guidelines. (Pictures are always taken for proof of the violation for the owners to see.) Parking is a valuable commodity in our community and when you are double parked you take up space that can be used by other residents that would like to park near their home. If you know of a place where crime does not occur please let me know???I would love to live there. As everyone knows, crime occurs everywhere. Whether it happens in an apartment community or a suburban neighborhood it happens! If anyone needs a refresher on Resident Safety and Loss please see your lease contract. (Paragraph 24) If you need a copy of the lease contract you signed please contact the office and we will be more than happy to give it to you. Courtesy Patrol Service is provided at Marine Creek Apartment Homes; we have contracted with Heartland Private Services. This courtesy patrol service is designed to enforce apartment rules and regulations and may help deter crime from the property; the courtesy patrol service is not meant nor intended to guarantee the security of the residents. If you have an emergency or witness a crime in progress you should call 911. In closing, I would just like to add???If Crime was such an issue during your stay (2006-2008) at Marine Creek; why are we just now discussing it? Don???t let your anger for your car being towed mislead any future prospects to visit our community. Regardless of what you may think about Marine Creek, you have and will always be a valuable resident to us!!! Sincerely, Management

You do realize that this kind of response from management on a forum like this makes you look even worse, don't you? Quoting paragraphs from a lease when someone is upset about the numerous cars being broken into is insulting to all of your tenants.

As a recent property manager in high activity area, I would like to let all residents know that even though crime does not have an address it can be controled better by having residents working with the office staff rather than against. Citizens patrol is one of the best tools to stir crime out of your communities. Even though nothing is 100% full proof it does help alot when residents join together and play a proactive role with management and local law enforcement agencies to take back the neighborhood. The towing is really a blessing because the hours when they are out to enforce community guidelines is also the highest crime rate hours. So a big thanks to them for risking thier safety for us at night and if we all follow the guidelines, towing can be used as an advantage rather than as a loss.
