Uh Hello we did call the cops and they came out. But does that stop the crime in the neighborhood? NO. So you maybe okay with that kind of neighborhood but for other people it is not so great. Thanks.

Well, I am sorry that your issues were not resolved with the police dept. but it is there job. The only way to correct the issue is to come up with an action plan with the management. Such as a neighborhood crime watch. If you are not willing to come up with solutions to the issues you shouldn't really complain. Remember, it starts with one person making a difference. I'm sorry you have issues that you don't want to resolve and only feel like complaining about them. I hope you reconsider in taking pride in your community.

"If you are not willing to come up with solutions to the issues you shouldn't really complain." I did come up with a solution. I moved into an apartment complex...this usually implies a group of professional managers is coming up with solutions to the problems mentioned here.
Also..."Call 911" is not a solution to cars being broken into...unless you are the owner of the car. I live in this "community" and saw a car that had been broken into. I called 911 and was told they could do *nothing* until the owner of the car directly contacted them. I still insisted on giving the 911 operator the plate number and the car make/model.
At the time the management office was not open or I would have told them about it and tried to contact the car's owner myself. I saw no point in calling the apartment office and leaving a message about a car being broken into since I know from personal experience the management does not care. My car was broken into a few months prior to this incident and I went to the office to let them know so they could send out an incident flyer for other residents. At the office, the manager in charge asked me to point my car out to her. Why she needed this information I do not know. She said she would send out a flyer and then failed to do so. I suppose it would be difficult for them to inform tenants of every car that is broken into there since it happens so often. Even the police officer who came out to file a report when my car was broken into said it happens very often at that complex.
As for picking up trash if I see it, as you note is a good idea...I do this when I can. However, I've lost hope in this effort really helping much after seeing so many empty drug baggies lying around the parking lot. I still try to pick up this trash when I see it...however, the empty baggy I saw that was stuck in one of the numerous piles of dog crap did not get picked up.
