When the new management took over, I lost all trust in the complex. They immediately started charging me for water, sewer, and trash pick up. This was part of my rent before the new staff took over. They even lied and said that everyone had always been charged water. I have several friends that live there so I asked them if they were charged for utilities, other than electric. They said they were not and that it was part of their lease. We are now charged for water, sewer, gas, and trash, as a utility bill. Due to over watering, much water runs off that I am now charged for. This was not so in the past, you only paid for your electric bill. There is no honesty in this complex from management.
Star Telegram 2/20/08 carries the story about Armed Robberies on the complex. The gates don't work, there s no fence on the east side of the complex, and where is the security on the property. I personally know someone that lives there that was told to disconnect the security system. The alarm was going off when they returned home. No one responded to the alarm. Emergency maintenance was called and maintenance told them to pull the plate off the security system and cut the wires. How secure is that. All you have to do is cut the wires no one responds anyway. No one checked to see if the person call was the resident or a burglar. They submitted written requests on February 28 and on March 3 in the office to repair the security system. Six days later and counting their system has not been repaired.
If you walk back by the east apartments, you ll find weeds that are at least a foot high.
There are also aggressive dogs on the property. It s not unusual for me to see one of these tied on a patio as I go into my apartment. They bark and pull very hard trying to get to me.
Several of the apartments burned early in 2007. These units haven t been repaired and are still boarded up. What s up with that'
I was given one day notice that my lease had expired and I would be charged $150 more the next day, unless I signed a 9-11 month or 12 month lease (Is this legal') which by the way, both are more expensive than the original lease.
