I lived at Montevista for the past year right after I moved to Fort Worth. Overall, I'd say that these are nice apartments, but I did run into a few little issues.
Great things about Montevista: 1)location,location,location!! It's in an exclusive part of Fort Worth--right down the street is the gated and extremely wealthy community Mira Vista. You are flanked by expensive private schools, fancy car dealerships (Lexus and Mercedes), and all the restaurants, and shopping you'd probably ever want. 2)The apartments and grounds are attractive and well-maintained. The pool area is gorgeous and relaxing. The fitness center is really nice, and the club house is very stylish. The apartments are large and (mine did anyway) have crown molding and little decorative touches like rounded doorways, higher ceilings, etc. depending on the apartment you choose. 3)The office staff is friendly and polite. They always listened to my concerns and dealt with them appropriately. Also, Montevista has several get-to-know-you events each month like breakfasts, car washes, pool parties, etc. They also do many kid-friendly events, which are really nice. You have a strong sense of community while you live here.
4)I never once was concerned for my safety there, and felt it was worth a few extra dollars to live in that area.
Not So Great things about Montevista: 1)Maintance crews are nice, but not that competent. I had an issue with a mysterious leak that was destroying the baseboards, carpet, and walls in my apartment, and months after reporting this to the office it still has yet to be resolved. A bit of advice to ANY renter--put all maintenance requests in writing, giving a copy to the office and keeping a copy. This will help protect you. I recently overheard a leasing agent telling that to a new renter, but of course I was never told that. 2)Be prepared for some noise. I had several very noisy neighbors during my lease, some of whom nearly drove me crazy on occasion. Upstairs were the stompers who rattled the pictures on my walls. Down the hall were the people who had a friend that would often come over and sit outside in his truck and honk his horn for 5 (or more)straight minutes so they would come out. Both of these incidents were frequent, so I both called the police (esp. when the noise was late at night) and also the office. I feel that the office handled it in a very efficient way--after not too long both parties quieted down and I was back to being very happy.
All in all, I really enjoyed Montevista, despite any problems I had there. I would recommend it to anyone, because I feel that it's a great place to live in Southwest Ft. Worth. All apartments have problems, and any that Montevista have are outweighed by the positive things. I moved out when I bought a house, otherwise I would still be there.
