The management is extremely lazy. I've been complaining on my neighbors for months now, to no effect. Tenants have also complained about the surrounding suburbs dumping their garbage and furniture in our dumpsters. Nothing was done.
They hardly respond to any noise complaint at all! My neighbors and I have called the police out 3 times recently for the noise!
Complex is not gated! It's a huge problem! Every kid and lowlife in the neighborhood are over here swimming and playing basketball! There are kids running around cursing 24 hours a day.
There's a laundry facility, but it's trashed every day! There's a deposit for dish. A deposit for pets. A $100 late fee on rent! 2 month move-out notice, which is ridiculous!
Be careful with the management when moving in, they have a bad habit of refusing to show you the apartment (which is against Texas law).
The only plus is the maintenance, they are the best and very nice! So, If you have anything to be fixed, find them before you go to the management!
I'll be moving when my lease is up.

We haven't had any issues with Debbie or Jennifer since moving in a month ago. Out of the three complexes we've lived in, the management here has been the best.
As far as your complaints to management go, what do you really expect them to do? You're only seeing things from your perspective... from theirs, you may be the only person complaining about this tenant. This tenant might have lived here for years without complaints. For the complaints about the trash... what exactly do you expect them to do? What CAN they do? Not saying your complaints aren't legitimate... just saying that your expectations might be a bit much.
The community isn't gated... and never has been. You knew this moving in. Even if a community is gated, generally the gates don't work or are set to be motion-sensitive for safety reasons. In a nutshell... you live in an apartment complex. You shouldn't feel any entitlement to avoiding "unsavory types" unless you live on your own property and can have a say as to whom you invite to dinner.
Laundry facility trashed? It's a laundry room that is accessible by the entire complex! I like the fact that there are deposits and late fees... it keeps a few of those "unsavory types" from actually living on the property. And the two-month move out notice? That's pretty much standard for any complex these days.
Jennifer kept stalling when we wanted to look at the apartment, saying it wasn't ready. As it was a long-distance move, we insisted on looking at it to make sure it would fit our needs, and assured her that we didn't care what shape the unit would be in - we knew they were in the process of cleaning it up. With those qualifications in place, she gladly showed us the unit - and it wasn't ready. It was ready a week before we moved in, though. As earlier, it's the whole "perception" thing. She didn't want to show us a unit that wasn't ready... who can blame her? And who in their right mind would move into an apartment that they haven't had a chance to look at? Unless you're in a bind and need to move in tomorrow... but in a spot like that, beggars can't be choosers.
The one spot that I can totally agree with you on is the maintenance staff... Jose and his crew are the best!
From what I can surmise, I hate to say it but I think you expect entirely too much. My large 2bed/2bath is costing me less than $700 a month. These might not be the cheapest apartments in Fort Worth, but they're not Section 8 either. ;) It's in a halfway decent neighborhood, and we don't have people staring us down every time we leave the house. If you're going to continue living in budget apartments, you should learn to adjust your expectations accordingly. From the sound of your review, you'd probably have to pay for Hillside in downtown to be happy with your neighbors/environment.

I don't mind you giving your review of the apartment and your experiences, but I DO MIND the fact that you're trying to judge me based on what I've written.
You know absolutely nothing about me or the problems I've had here, so you need to keep those kind of remarks to yourself.
"As far as your complaints to management go, what do you really expect them to do? You're only seeing things from your perspective... from theirs, you may be the only person complaining about this tenant. This tenant might have lived here for years without complaints."
hmm, how do you know I'm the only person complaining? In fact, this is exactly (verbatim) what the management has told me every single time. Not that they ever checked it out themselves. Are you sure your not mgmt? If not, then you must know them too well...
"For the complaints about the trash... what exactly do you expect them to do? What CAN they do? Not saying your complaints aren't legitimate... just saying that your expectations might be a bit much."
Again this is what the mgmt has said. I'm starting to seriously doubt you're a tenant. They can call the police. Which is what I did myself and was told the apt needs to call the office in charge of the dumpsters (the number is on the dumpster) to work out a remedy. (By the way, people are still dumping furniture and construction materials in them).
"The community isn't gated... and never has been. You knew this moving in. Even if a community is gated, generally the gates don't work or are set to be motion-sensitive for safety reasons. I was making this point for people WHO HAVE NOT lived here! And where do you get off thinking that I'm feeling entitled to anything? Again, a remark against me, this could easily be left off your "review".
As for you not seeing your apartment. If that's kosher with you, then fine. But for me there was no excuse. And I'm not the only one that's had that experience here. Of course, the it's not ready excuse is what they pulled on me too.
"From what I can surmise, I hate to say it but I think you expect entirely too much...If you're going to continue living in budget apartments, you should learn to adjust your expectations accordingly. Again! What the hell? Your spending your time judging me instead of the apartment. You need to write your review or response based on the facts of my review, not what you think I expect or am entitled to.

I currently live at the Savoy, I am a tentant and not management. Just wanted to get that out there. I absolutely love where I live. I love the kids running around playing and anywhere you go you are going to have kids in the complex who will cuss. They probably think it is cool. What one question I had. when you spoke to the management about the dumpsters what do they say? Do they tell you they called or what is their response? I think by asking these types of questions it give you are fair chance to respond with comments. I dont' think attacking anyone is the right thing to do so I am sorry that the person who just wrote you did that but I really dont' think they were trying to be rude to you personally. I have neighbors that for the past 6 months yell and scream but I keep to myself and we don't say anything. They are nice people and I am sure if we said something they would listen. Maybe if you tried that or do you think they would get mad? Also, I think it might be different for every occasion because I was told by the Manager that the apartment wasn't completely cleaned and their were some new changes they were going to make but she was happy to show me the apartment. I even got to choose which apartment I wanted and she showed me where they were located on the map. I think you just had a really bad experience and not saying anything bad about them but those things do happen. I dont' think you are wrong in expressing that because like you said the people who are moving in need to know those things. Also, How do you get your Maintenance issues completed b/c I put in a request and called every week to get it done and come to find out no one was entering it into the computer system so the maintenance guys never knew. Once they were told they came immediately and repaired everything and they are so nice. I put in a new request and they still haven't come, I had to get a friend to fix the problem on my own. I just don't understand. I have even written notes too. That really is the only problem I have had. A friend had a maintenance request and he was never told. She found out from the maintenance guy. she stopped him to see when he was coming by and he said for what. They hadn't told him. That and only that is the only problem I have. Can you see if you can switch apartments due to noise? Maybe they will let you do that. Also if it is a huge problem, read you lease, speak with TAA and see what your rights are. They are a nuetral 3rd party and are their to help you with these types of issues.

I lived at Savoy for 8 yrs an the management was great an maintenance once they changed over to this new company an let this adjusted rent start it went down hill. I moved out very soon it was pathetic the hot tub was moled for a yr. The play ground got destroyed the management didn't ever do the job. I got attacked by a black woman her son was following me an my daughter calling me the B word. These apartments suck so many people lived there for 10 yrs. An they no longer do. Due to all these reasons. So who ever is saying they are great you are full of it. Just cause you get on the goody side of management doesn't mean squat. Dollface
