I read the reviews before I actually leased this apartment; and I only saw positive reviews. Perhaps this is why I am so very disappointed; I have lived in Stone Villas at Lake Worth for one Month. This month has been nothing but problems and health concerns. The main concern being the severe red ant infestation; the ants are in the whole apartment. I really think that they are coming out of the walls! I won't even prepare a meal in this place. This morning I looked above my Washer and Dryer and there was a trail of at least 200 ants lining from my wall to my ceiling. When I discovered this problem two days after moving in; I contacted the Management office.
Although the management office Staff is very friendly, that is all that I can say positively about this establishment. I was told that I had to wait for more than one week for any exterminators to come out to my apartment. It was further explained to me that the exterminators only would come spray on Wednesday of every other week. Unfortunately for me; I moved in on the off week. I than repeatedly called until they sent two guys from a local pest control company.
Long story short, this problem has gotten much worse over the two week period. I have also discovered at least three wasp nests outside of my building. (one being next to my Balcony). I have discovered the ants in my clothing drawer, and they have contaminated about fifty dollars worth of my non perishable food items. I have tried to stop this by not cooking at all and putting things like cereal in plastic storage containers.
The property is full of careless college students that leave trash like beer cans, and food littered across the premises. The worse thing about this is that some of this liter is within plain view and has not been removed.
Nothing is working; I have taking pictures and decided to report this to the health department. My advice to any apartment searchers; please beware of Stone Villa apartments.

Wow! I have lived here for almost 2 years & the only problem I've had is people sitting their trash out on off days. According to those photos, that could happen anywhere! You should go down the road where the apartments were on the news for having over 30 break ins - or you should go to the new houses in Saginaw where the manager herself lives in a very nice area & had her $2,500 Tires & rims stolen. I have known the manager for a long time, as a matter of fact, I move where ever she works because she does care about her complex! If you are having a problem with some college kids, tell her, I'm sure she'll follow the law & do what she can. As for the ants, my son lives in a new house & it is covered with ants - it's the season & the weather bringing them in...what would you do if you had a house?? If it's that big of a problem for you take care of it yourself.... she doesn't own the place. Have a great day.

I too have a major ant problem. Lesson learned. Don't move into a brand new establishment until all the bugs and kinks are worked out of it. Also just a side note, but for the price you pay for these apartments hell you think the apartments would be glorious. Cheaply built in my opinion. But good place to stay. No complaints other than the outrageous price. 1 bedroom under 700sq goes for 790 a month!! Can you say over priced.

The one bedroom are not 790 a month. I pay 712 for a one bedroom. I don't have any bug problems (maybe the spiders outside are a little bad this year). If you want over priced, compare with the place up the street (which by the way has had bad publicity in the news recently). This is a very quiet peaceful place to live. Nice people in the office and nice neighbors.

The management is very friendly and welcoming whenever you are considering move-in, however, after you're in, they really could care less about the tenants. The sprinkler system is WAY out of control. I think it is ridiculous that people have to step across mud and water run-off and marshy grass, due to over-use of sprinklers and excess water, just to gain axcess to the breezeways. The ants are a MAJOR problem...the management promises and promises, yet the problem is never solved. Wasps are quite prevalent, as well as spiders. Someone mentioned the apartment complex "up the street" received bad publicity, yet their gates (entry & exit) remain CLOSED. Stone Villas' exit gate remained open for approximately 2.5 weeks before they started actually shutting it. The lighting in most of the breezeways is inadequate for safety at night. I would seriously consider researching other complexes before considering Stone Villas.

I am really to the point of trying to take this a litle further;I have Considered contacting the Health Department. At this time I feel that my health is being compromised; I now have big red ants that bite, along with the little small ones that are all over the place. Now I moved into this mess; and I am a very clean tidy person.
I was promised by management that pest control would be to my place, but they only come if I call about three times. It really is a shame that they can get away with this.
It really is true that you have to avoid mud puddles from the outrageous sprinkler system. I am in a situation where I can't even get out of the lease if I wanted to. I can't afford to move again, I feel like the Managemanet here at Stone Villas @ Lake Worth should be investigated by the Health Department.
Not only are there ants there are Wasp nest all over the place preventing me from relaxing on my Balcony.

I completely agree. There is quite a problem with bugs at Stone Villas. At the complex where I used to live (Eagle's Point) they had every unit sprayed once a month. I had no problems there. At Stone Villas you have to request that they come out to spray if you have a problem -which they conveniently negleted to tell me when I moved in. I have had pest control come out but it has not helped much. My main problem is spiders -inluding BLACK WIDOWS! So far I have been VERY disappointed with the management and maintenance of this complex and would not recommend this property to anyonne that I know.

Before you jump in head first, try reading your lease very carefully. Word for word. There is nowhere that says that the management is responsible for pest control. They do it as a courtesy. You should act like a rational human being and buy some ant killer, instead of blaming it on your apartments.
