Management Doesn't Care About Residents

I currently live at The Depot and I cannot wait to get out of my lease. Although the management is really friendly when you are looking at the property everything changes once you move in. They are rude and shady. Do not expect to receive payment for a fellow resident who you refer, even after asking several times; sometimes you do, sometimes you do not. Half of the $500 pet deposit that you pay is non-refundable and then they seem surprised that some of that money is going to have to cover the cost of having pets on the property, namely keeping the small "bathroom" areas clean. If that isn't a service offered by the property that why do they keep $250'

I had a computer problem while paying my rent online and even after I contacted them to check to make sure it went through they left me notice that it did not and were kind enough to add a late fee and that is only if I paid it that day. That is fantastic except that the reason I contacted them by email was because I was not going to be home that day. Thus, responding by email would have been a much more timely way of contacting me. Although I understand that they have a business to manage, I sincerely miss the warm feeling I received when I was looking at the apartment.

They will also show you this great community use "lounge" that includes free coffee and a big screen TV and it looks great! Except that you can only get in during office hours... They open after I leave for work and close before I get home. Not really all that great. I have been in there once the entire time I have lived here.

They tell you that there will be all sorts of events at which you can meet people and have fun. I've heard about one so far and it was not advertised around the property so I heard about it afterwords. I'm wondering if it was just for their friends in the complex. Basically, if you didn't already know somebody, you weren't going to know to go out there to meet people.

Also, every my upstairs neighbor uses any water it sounds like a flood is coming down on me.

The only time I have been impressed was after the apartment building was struck by lightning. They dealt with it as best as could be expected considering that this kind of thing doesn't happen often. They kept changing the date that I could move back in but again I do not think that was something they could have handled better. They just didn't know; nobody did. During this time I was particularly impressed with an employee, Heather. She was so kind and she is the only one who has been friendly while I have lived here. She even walked down to my apartment to look at my power box. She didn't know any more about it than I did but the fact that she was willing to walk down there and look at it with me confirmed that I a)had it flipped the correct way and b)was not going crazy! Also, my apartment was cleaned afterwords and it was finally as clean as it should have been when I moved in.

Parking is horrible but that is unavoidable. There is no more land to build parking lots on. Yes they should have laid it out different but the people who made that choice aren't even involved in the property anymore.

The trash is always overflowing. It is gross and they need to have an additional trash can.

Do not choose this apartment. There are hundreds of condos and lofts downtown and they are a little harder to find but worth the look. This is the most overpriced place I have ever lived. It was worth the money based on the overview they gave me but now that I have lived here I would never choose it again.

Tiffany Ondracek likes to keep an unauthorized dog in her apartment and doesn't pick up after it or puts it on a leash. By the way, I hear that $500 is still owed since you haven't paid it yet? I am sure this is by far the reason your friend doesn't get a referral check. I would be pissed at you too. The clubhouse is open during business hours but it is in a historic building and connects with their office. I'm sure you were told at the beginning that it is open during business hours just like I was. If you think you can't hear noise from a neighbor then you should be in a house. Every apartment community has noise issues. Trash, funny! I see the staff always keeping up with the grounds. They are always so wonderful to me but I am sure if you don't follow the rules then issues may arise.
