Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008

Lived at the Grove (formerly Santa Fe) for about a year. Moving b/c of job, or I would be staying here for awhile. I have lived a few other places in the area (including across the street), and this place puts the others to shame in terms of what you get for the price. This is a small, quiet, well-kept complex that has even improved in the year that I've lived here. Since it is an older complex, there are a few thing that need updating (appliances, for one), but if you consider what you pay here, who can complain. I would imagine they'll be updating the appliances before long anyway.

My unit is close to the gate/street, and I will admit being annoyed at first by the noise (walls are kinda thin), but I don't even notice it anymore and haven't had a single issue with noisy neighbors or anything like that. As far as crime or safety, this is probably one of the safest areas you could live in Fort Worth. I have no hesitations about running or biking on the streets and trails around here even at night. Parking is way more than adequate. Pool area is somewhat small, but I never saw it get too crowded to enjoy. This is not your typical party scene if that's what you're looking for, by the way.

The folks in the office are some of the nicest you'll meet. I was pleasantly surprised to meet some apartment staff who actually didn't try to rip me off for once. For example, before I recently found out that I would have to move, I had asked them about rate increases when it was time for me to renew, and they were only going to raise my rent by like $20, which is nothing compared to other places I've been! Also, the few maintenance issues I've had were minor and were addressed within 24 hours.

I never get on this website (only now b/c I'm having to look for a new place), but I was rather shocked to see that the Grove's recommendation was only 78% at the time of me writing this. Looks like that's actually pretty high compared to some, but it should be a lot higher in my opinion. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. You'll get more than your $$'s worth, trust me.
