I have lived at the Verandas for 2 years. The first year was great, but the last year I have felt ignored and neglected as a resident.

1.) Verandas raised my rent and removed crucial resident services. For the first year I lived here, the Verandas offered trash curb-side pick up three days a week. One day, conveniently close to me having to resign my lease, trash service was abruptly taken away. Now all residents must haul their trash all the way to the front of the property. They added no extra dumpsters. Having a compact car, this is highly inconvenient and insulting to me as a resident. To make things worse, the dumpster is constantly overfilled with trash bags falling out of it and its housing space. When I complained, management said it was due to "lazy residents." I requested that they add more dumpsters around the property so that everyone would have a semi-convenient drop off spot, but this idea was quickly dismissed.

2.) Fine threats. A few weeks ago temperatures dropped to around 20 degrees. Because I barely left my house over these few days. I left a tightly closed trash bag outside my door until the time I could take it to the dumpster. I also watched closely to be sure animals did not get into it. A few days later, I was threatened by a $25 fine. Apparently, this is what trash pick up is worth to them... so I'm wondering why my rent wasn't discounted at least $100 per month.

Although I have a very lovely apartment in a lovely location, I feel I could never recommend this property to anyone. The rent is not reasonable enough to be treated like a desperate source of extorted money.
