Nice but thin walls and ceilings

I've lived here for almost a year and there are pros and cons, as with any living situation. I do love the floor plan of my 1/1 but a lot of simple amenities have diminished since I moved in. I was told upon move in that the complex offered valet trash and free covered parking, both of which no longer exist.
I've had very high electric and water bills while living in the smallest 1 bedroom the complex offers and I am very modest with both utilities. I've had $100 water bills and have heard other tenants describing the same scenario.
The walls, ceilings and floors are very poorly insulated and I can hear my upstairs neighbor walking, talking, going to the bathroom, opening their patio door and their dog, which never stops barking. I live on the 2nd story and I'm unable to ever play music or use my TV speakers because everyone can hear it, no matter how much I TRY and TRY to keep it down.
The complex has seen its fair share of apartment break ins, I think in one month we had four notices on our front doors. This is nice side of town with lots of nice cars, so I'm sure this is true for most of FTW.
The maintenance does a good job but sometimes doesn't complete the full work order or doesn't understand the issue. All of the maintenance staff is very friendly but it is difficult to get a work order completed at times. Persistency and descriptive work orders pay off in this scenario.
The office staff is your basic apartments staff, they're nice and the management changes often, that's just how it is, no matter where you go. I've never had a complaint about the office staff. I hope this remains true upon move out.
Someone mentioned the grounds were un-kept in an earlier review and that no longer seems to be the case. The grounds always look great, there's only one dumpster on property though and that can get a little full at times. Lots of parking but they've recently implemented charging for covered parking and strict towing regulations. Too bad, I liked parking where-ever I wanted.
It's a nice complex, good floor plans, tons of storage space and great balconies. I'm disappointed in the thin walls and floors, high utility bills and unfulfilled maintenance requests. All in all, I'd pass on this place.
