Parking is Terrrible, Noise is Disturbing

The parking here is a nightmare. Poor parking policies are not one of the things you think about when you are looking for a new apartment unless you have been the victim of it.

I finally was able to start renting a covered parking spot after countless nights of walking long distances or having to drive around looking for a parking spot for up to an hour. After one week of my using it, my husband needed to park there, so I told him where it was. He got home after dark, and couldn't read the numbers on the roof, and mistakenly parked one over from where our spot was. Two hours later, we left for dinner and could not find his car. It had been TOWED! We spent the rest of the night trying to find the lot, and payed 250.00 to get it back.

This was not the first parking related problem we have had. We have received an actual parking violation ticket from the "security guard" (cop) who lives here because we got home after midnight on Sunday and there was NO parking available in the entire complex, so we parked in a handicapped spot. Where else could we have parked'!'! Mind you, this was not a "friendly reminder" from an on-site security guard, but a citation from the city of Westworth Village that we had to pay!!

We are awakened at all hours by whoever lives upstairs. I have lived in apartments with a story above me for years, so I know what "normal" noise is. This level of noise is absolutely ridiculous. We can hear our next door neighbor's conversations through the walls, and don't feel comfortable talking privately in our own apartment.

The dog poop on the walkways and grass is a total eyesore and health hazard. They either need to find out who is doing it, or have the groundskeepers pick it up.

Basically, it's a nice complex, but until they do something about the parking, everything else that could be lived with, such as the noise and poop, is just too much on top of everything else. Maybe if no one moves in for awhile, it will motivate them to do something about it. This is not a rant against the on site management, they have been as nice as they could be without really doing anything about the problems. ("sorry, that's just terrible, but we can't do anything, that's just the way it is") I would think whatever changes need to be made would need to come from higher up than the office people.

Also, some reflective numbers or lights on the covered parking would really help you be able to tell which one is your spot.

If there had been a parking place available anywhere in the entire complex, I would have parked there. Clearly there are more things in my review that I was mad about other than my ticket. People actually use this website as a source of information. Your comment does not contribute anything useful. What's your point? Update: Parking has not been terrible lately, but during the holiday season it sucks. They recently added a doggy station near my building, which has helped cut down on the poop, but obviously there are still dirty, selfish people who live here who let their large dogs take enormous craps on the grass and won't pick it up...with a station 5 feet away! It always makes me mad. I'm not mad at the complex about this, but at the pet owners who are so disrespectful. I also think it is a nice enough complex that they should have the groundskeepers maintain this, as they have done at other places I have lived.

I agree with the above poster. I am comforted by the fact that the mgmt. follows up on people who park in protected spaces. If you parked in someone else's space or in a handicapped spot, you deserved what you got. The noise and the poop are legitimate complaints, but don't take out your just desserts for the parking on the apartment complex.
