My fiancee and I have been looking into apartments to move into once we get married. Villas on the Green topped our list with ease, from the floorplans to the location to the courtesy of the staff on the phone. We were quoted a price and move-in date over the phone and via email that iced the cake. Well all that changed when we went in to look and sign. We arrived and were immediately asked to sign the lease...without having seen the apartment. That should have set off lots of red flags. We went to a similar unit to get a feel for what we were to be getting. We liked it a lot. Back in the office, the girl pulls out the lease...not only has the price gone up, but the move in date was 18 days after we were quoted. When we declined, she became very pushy and rude. The next day, they offered a first floor (we had been looking at a 2nd floor) for $60/month less than the 2nd floor unit's higher price (the $60/month less was $19/month more than we had been quoted in writing). When I said no and cited the treatment and reviews of the apartment, I was told (rather rudely, I might add) that "no apartment ever receives good reviews" and that I was "stupid for trusting the reviews." Glad I didn't rent here, and hopefully no one else will either!

I'm so sorry that you had a bad experience during your apartment search, I can assure you that's not the norm. I wish you would have asked to speak with me personally so that we could have discussed your concerns and given me the opportunity to better explain our internet based pricing software which is used by numerous apartment communties. The software takes into account so many variables that affect the units rental rate(s). Move in date, how many days vacant, how many units we have on notice, lease term, competitor's rates, the list goes on.....
The best comparision I can give you is when you purchase an airline ticket, based on the amount of seats vacant, the date you need and the length of your stay they are able to quote you a price. If you purchase right then you're locked in, but if you call back a few minutes later they may not have availibility and the price also changed. We input your specific information and it gives us a quote for that exact apartment which is good for 48 hours. You can secure that rate and exact apartment home by making application, paying app fee, deposit(s)and signing the lease. Feel free to call me at 817-514-1638 to discuss. Based on your feedback I will also provide further customer service and communication training to the employee(s). Overall, Apartment Professionals do not prefer to use this site as a true and fair representation of our communities. I know of properties that have offered gifts to thier residents to post positive comments and raise thier scores. I highly recommend that prospects not totally rely on this source since it usually offers more negative feedback and a place for residents to vent.I suggest driving the property after hours, stop and ask several of the current residents about thier experiences here. Maybe come to one of our resident brunches to meet some of the residents. We just received our 2009 Resident Surveys results (it was handled by an outside agency). The scores are very good, no company can be 100% but we are honestly striving to get there. Again, I thank you for your feedback and wish you would give us another chance if you haven't found a home yet.

As a past resident of VOG I agree with Delese that it is a really nice place to live. BUT trust your instincts!!!!! They are very deceptive!!! If you want to move in to VOG be sure to READ READ READ EVERYTHING THOROUGHLY before you sign it. Insist that a manager be present to sign the lease the same time as you or else once you sign, they will come back with addendums and your hands are basically tied because you are already in the lease. They WILL try to rip you off when you move out. It's just what they do. I have known several people who lived there and VOG tried to cheat every single one of them. They still owe me $178 that they kept from my $1270 deposit. Originally they kept almost the entire amount of my deposit, but once they realized I video taped my move out, and produced receipts for work I had done that they were trying to charge me for, they returned most of what they owe me. I hate to say it, but I would actually live there again because I liked it so much, but I would do things MUCH differently next time. So don't let bad reviews scare you away from a great living experience, just CYA and be prepared to fight for your deposit. PS the front pool is really nice - I miss it!

Delese,
I had talked about the rate less than 24 hours before. That 48 hours was not given. Business has been lost. I was treated rudely. I was lied to. I am still being lied to...NO WAY! NO HOW!! NEVER!!! 17% rating on this site speaks for itself. plenty of other complexes have much better ratings...I'll be heading to them, and I will make sure all my friends do as well.
