Don't give them money until you see YOUR apartment From: dcarrfortworth Date posted: 6/8/2007 Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007   If you wonder why you have to give these people a money order instead of a check it's because they will keep your money and under NO circumstances will they give it back. I did not see my apt, only one like it, when I gave them my deposit. When I did see it, it had been wrecked by the last tenant with stains all over the carpet in every room. They told me I would have to pay $25 a month for two years in order to replace the carpet. My question, why do I have to pay for the last tenants damages' I cannot get my $150 deposit back even tho they admit it's the only one bedroom they have and that they can probably rent it in a matter of days.
