Wind River Apartments has its good and its bad....I've been here for two years now and it can be very noisy at times and very quiet at times. I must admit..the neighbors and tenants are friendly, helpful, and can be noisy and rude at the same time. There are too many drug and prostitute transactions occurring in the community because of the low-scale apartments surrounding. The corner stores attract alot of activity and they tend to park here in Wind River since it is the first complex with open parking...no gates here. Most apartments around here have gates until you reach Wind River. Also, too many FEMA recipients have been lately roaming the apartments breaking into vehicles, apartments, offices, etc. I think that this is terribly unacceptable when the government is helping these individuals they come to steal from everyone else still. Also, my neighbors car was recently broken into and my other neighbor's apartment recently broken into. This is scary...and I always wonder will I be next. Especially when I'm a single female here not knowing when to expect this to happen. It's not safe out there early in the morning, late at night, or even broad daylight. I have been approached on several occasions by drug addicts, people looking for prostitutes, and people just wanting money or food. I work all day and come home and the last thing I need is someone else wanting my money who is capable of getting their own jobs. The apartments are usually quiet Monday thru Friday during the week since most drug, alcohol addicts are asleep...then in the evening they all come out again. Good luck if you decide to lease from here...just make sure you drive over here at night and please visit the entire complex when you do. Women get attacked and raped in the back half of the apartments and dont walk alone!!!!

The author of this write up was too generous for me. I lived in those back apartments and wrote a review of that place which is the worst place I have ever lived in. Fort Worth should be ashamed of the apathy extreme high volume of crime, prostitution (my favorite oddity was the five woman old mazada that converted into their changing car), active firearm exchanges, active gangs of more than one homegrown and out of state varity. The only true road in dead ended at my building. The famous "trash dumpster" and sewer manhole blockhouse were the favorite areas of the thugs and harlots. The management really turned a blind eye ear and mouth to all of that and yes they did high tail it out before the sun set. The large extra wheelchair size holes in the trashed fence made a community thug walk through to at least three seperate directions all with no exposure to the street where the police if they were around sheepishly stayed in their car near the main intersection to the interstate. To make it even a worst scene one of the worst areas overlooked a small childrens playground in a adjacent just as bad complex. Moving from that apartment complx and that area and yet even living in the same zip code was such a night and day difference in my life as I too work for a living ironically in a federal prison for women. The last thing I want is to go home and see more of the same except worst. Mr. P. at Apt 601
