I currently live in the complex. I have only been here three months and already can't get anything fixed. The apartment was not properly repaired after the last tennants moved out. The faucet, dishwasher, refrigerator, thermostat, blinds, bathroom drains and windows all were in need of repair in the first week. The windows have still not been fixed after three months that included 5 phone calls, 3 letters and 4 face to face meetings. I am now sending a certified letter, a week later I'll call the state building inspector and after he visits I can have the repairs done myself and sue the apartment for expenses, etc. Know your rights if you make the mistake of moving here. I have never had this much trouble getting an apartment to perform basic maintenance. The windows by the way occupy one of the three walls in the living room. The windows leak profusely when it rains and are now molding. After talking to the management I found out they were aware of the problem before they rented the apartment. STAY AWAY!!!!
UPDATE: After reading this review the apartment manager called me. We discussed the issues stated above. She was very friendly and helpful. Maintenance was sent again to evaluate the damage the same day. This problem can't be fixed overnight, but assurances were made that the steps will begin quickly. Thankfully, the certified letter and other steps were not necessary to get the ball rolling.
Update: The apartment management has tried several times to fix the window, but the leaks persist. I've had enough. I moved into what I thought was a nice apartment. In the 7 months I've been here things have gone downhill. There are always noisy, disrespectful kids running around the stairs, halls, pool and weight room (after swimming). Dogs pee all over the stairs and walkways. The stairwells by my apartment constantly smell like pee. Dogs are often not on leashes. Many of the dogs far exceed the stated 25lb limit. The picnic area floods every time it rains. The flooding makes the entire area useless, smelly and a perfect habitat for bugs. If you get home after about 6:00pm you'll wind up parking far away from you apartment. The upstairs neighbors can be heard stomping, running, shutting cabinets, peeing and thanks to a squeaky bed doing very personal things. The neighbors are partly to blame, but extremely thin walls are the biggest problem. I've never lived in an apartment that you could so easily hear your neighbors. Recently the number of questionable residents has increased dramatically. When I first moved in the neighbors were generally friendly and clean. Many of the new additions are downright creepy and questionable. I really can't wait to move.

As management, I would like to respond to the latest update. I am unaware of any pending issues with window leaks. Please call me to discuss further repairs needed. We do not have a 25lb pet weight limit stated anywhere-we accept large dogs with breed restrictions. As far as residents letting their dogs off leashes and not using the correct areas for urinating-I have addressed this issue monthly in the newsletter and other than watching every resident 24 hours a day to catch them, I'm not sure what else I can do. The picnic area fills with water during heavy rain because it was built as a retention pond, not a picnic area. It's purpose is to hold excessive rain water to keep the property and your home from flooding. It drains as fast as it can-usually within one day. I am thankful that we have this and have never had an apartment flood. As far as questionable residents-our leasing criteria has not changed at all, in fact rent has increased therefor income requirements have increased. If anything, our criteria factors have increased rather than decreased. And finally-noisy neighbors: Unfortunately this is an issue with apartment living. I have been in this business 14 years now, in both brand new construction communities and older communities. The noise complaints have always been there. Excessive noise such as music or yelling should always be reported to our answering service and our on-site courtesy officer will be glad to respond. I am sorry that your experience here has been unhappy.
