The crime is our biggest issue

Ok, so yes the place looks impressive from the outside. And yea, the floorplans are nice, not as spacious as one would hope for, but comfortable enough to manage. But speaking of manage...THE MANAGER DOESN'T ALLOW THE HOUSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PATROL THIS CRIME-RIDDEN COMPLEX BECAUSE OF HER OWN RECORD WITH THEM!! My fiance and I have called HPD out to our apartment, including when we got broken into, and they told us the reason they won't patrol here is because of the manager fighting with them. I'm sorry, but why should all the tenants have to suffer crime because of the leasing manager'''
Honestly the trash-related comments, mold, and unruly children who are NEVER MONITORED AND FREE TO ROAM THE COMPLEX are dead on facts about this property.

Once upon a time, I dreamed of living here because it looked so luxurious and pretty. People actually would be impressed when you said "Oh yea, I live at the Lodge at Baybrook." But now...

The new clientel is bad, bad, bad and as far as the crime - IT'S GETTING WORSE EVERYDAY. RESIDENTS DO NOT FEEL SAFE HERE ANYMORE.

Please take into consideration your safety and that of your family's before considering the Lodge. Just remember: It's beautiful on the outside and all the perks, (nice gym, movie theater, pool table, game room, big pool, volleyball court, and washer/dryer included in your unit) are only flashy objects to distract you from the serious CONS of renting here. Beware.

I am the manager and you obviously have NO IDEA what you are talking about because I DO NOT have a criminal record. Ask Lincoln Property Company (the 3rd largest and one of the most respectable management co.s in the nation, or MBS, or Findit, or Relocation Central, or any co. I have worked for who have ran a background check on me you liar. And WHY IN GODS NAME would I want to fight with the police and not allow them to partol my property!!!??? That is ridiculous! They point blank told me they were understaffed and, frankly, did not have time to patrol the property. We have since inquired a new courtesy officer who works for Harris County who does patrol the property. I live here too and I love this property. I have been here 3 1/2 years. The comments some people on this website make simpley repulse me.

Just commenting...it's acquired (you got one) not inquired (asked).

Wow, the response from the manager is very unprofessional and bad spelling and grammar to boot! MBS in no longer the owner yet the new owner, Lincoln Property, has kept the same management staff on the property? Bad for business and Lincoln Property should know better ... it's always out with the old and in with the brand spanking new to make everything better! Hopefully they will get a clue before they lose all their GOOD tenants.

Litehaus65: You should have seen the comment apartmentratings.com deleted. Lincoln Properties actually sold the place within months of purchasing it. My friend said a new company bought them, I believe their name is Adams LaSalle Realty and they have really been working harder than MBS and Lincoln to restore this property to its original state. I just went and visited last week with my friend and I did notice they had been pressure washing the units; they were clean and white instead of the previous dingy green. Unfortunately I also noticed more ghetto-natured residents there. There were lights out in the breezeways of certain buildings and the covered parking, which normally has lights, were out as well. Not a good thing as far as safety goes. I hope the good residents that are there are being cautious and careful. After seeing the "new" type of residents, I know if I were still there I would be investing in some security systems...serious ones.

I've lived here for a little over 3 months and it is not "scary." There are plenty of professional people living here. As far as "ghetto" people goes, I tend to disagree. The rent here is far from cheap. I would agree that the new company (yes, Lincoln sold literally within a month) is working hard to make it nice and restore it. The main issue, and I think the majority of the tenents would agree, is with management. I read the comment from the so-called manager and laughed myself at the attempt to sound educated. "We have since inquired a new courtesy officer." Yes, everyone that has graduated high-school knows that the word "inquire" means to ask and that "aquired" means you have obtained something in your possession. I'll leave it at that based on the rest of her response that is riddeled with grammar and spelling errors (simpley = simply). Inference what you will. Never the less, the current site management can always be altered. With the current situation we are in (aftermath of Ike) poor management skills have been shown. Every single person working in the office, manager included, left Thursday, 9/11 and did not return until Tuesday afternoon, 9/18. Residents were returning and several apartments were severely damaged. Imagine the feelings of having your apartment and belongins ruined and no one is around to even address the situation...FOR DAYS!! The only person that was around to speak with was Jose, the maintenence manager, and that was not until Monday afternoon. In fact, the property manager has not even shown her face to tenents, though she is rumored to be around. It is understandable that she may have evacuated herself, but the storm hit Friday night/Saturday morning. If it is a property that one professes to "love" than wouldn't one return to it as soon as possible. If it were me, I would have been back Sunday morning. Probably would have come in Saturday night. But that's me. I have work ethics. Either way, I have full faith that the property, one way or another, will be repaired and things will be sorted out. In all honesty, it really is a nice place and worth the money paid each month. I hope that the new owners see the potential and do what they need to do to make this place a success.

Well, as a previous tennant, I have to say that as far as patrol, the "manager" is right. I work for a police agency, and I called HPD myself to set up patrol after a suspicious incident, and hpd told me that they would try but they are very short staffed. Police are not allowed to refuse patrol based on personal preferences, like "I don't get along with her so I won't patrol over there". That is against the law. To suggest this is ignorant. Now, I agree, the management does leave a little to be desired, but all apartments do. I have never lived in an apartment with a truly compitant management staff.

Wow...it's funny watching people comment on other people's grammar and spelling, and then proceed to make grammar and spelling errors. I myself am a college graduate with a 150 IQ, yet I still make spelling and grammar errors at times. Instead of being the grammar police, perhaps we should cut a little slack, hmmm? At any rate, I lived in this complex from 1999-2000 when it was brand new. I loved this place. If I hadn't gotten married and wanted to buy a house, I'd probably still live there, barring some of the problems other posters have mentioned. I remember a few years ago when the place appeared to have gotten quite "ghetto", with broken down cars in the parking lot. I really wondered what was going on there, since I used to pay $850/month for a one-bedroom 1000 sq. ft. apartment. I'm guessing the combination of MBS with the Katrina people living there on FEMA welfare was the perfect storm (no pun intended) for this place going downhill. I drove through there a few weeks ago, and it looks much improved now. I think the new management, whoever they are, must be doing a decent job of raising the bar there.
