I lived in Cypress Lake apartments for the past two years. I recently moved to Dallas to be closer to my new job but otherwise I would still be living in Cypress. I'm a young single gal and safety is a major concern of mine. I never once was scared or had any disturbances of any sort during my time at Cypress. I always felt extremely safe which is probably why I was not scared if I came home late or if I wanted to take a late night jog around the complex. Also, the rims on my Denali stayed put along with my stereo. The neighbors are nice, decent people and besides the occasional hello people seem to keep to themselves...atleast in my building where it was mainly families or young couples. The apartment staff is friendly so I don't know what all these other people are talking about when they say that they are rude. I was in the office atleast once a month whether it was picking up a package that they signed for or reporting a problem for maintenance and I never was treated badly. They are young, but they are a friendly and caring staff in my opinion. They also organize social events every month, which I never attended because I have a life, but i heard from other residents that they were fun and cool with free alcohol:) The office staff went out of their way for me a couple of times and it's things like that which make you feel like your rent payment is worth it...because my hot water heater went out on a friday at like 4pm and they fixed it that day! The maintenance guys are soooooo goooood at their job and are very nice...I dont know the head maintenance guys name (he's a nice hispanic man) but he needs a raise...and the good looking guy who works in the office...he was always so nice to me. Furthermore, the rat problem is only prevalent in the summer time and the staff did not keep them around as pets! They tried their hardest to get rid of them and they really pretty much did. You see the problem is that there was major construction going on near the apartments and when a field is torn up the mice/rats have to go somewhere...so of course they're going to stick around an apartment complex if people keep putting their trash out on the curb on NON-TRASH PICK-UP DAYS!!! duh! The people who complain about the rats are probably the main contributors to the problem! Also, the staff was constantly putting out notices to people telling them to stop putting out their trash when they're not supposed to and also reminding people to pick up after their pets in DESIGNATED SPOTS! Most people are pretty good about taking their dogs to the designated pet deposit spots...but some people like one lady I used to live by will just let their dog run out the front door and take a crap on the sidewalk or right in the front walkway grass area of the building. My point is that Cypress is a great, pretty, convenient, safe place to live with a friendly staff and nice neighbors...there just may be one or two people you live by who need a reminder of when trash day is or where the doggy poo stations are...but that's normal! It's not like the apartments are being taken over by Katrina victims like they have in a lot of Dallas area apartments. And the gate...well I don't know what's up with that, it would work for 2-3 weeks and then it would randomly break and they would fix it within a day or two...they probably just need to put in a brand new gate...oh yeah, but then everyone would come post a review about how they are putting in a new gate and the construction is an inconvenience. Anyway, this website was a big help for me in selecting a new home and I appreciated all the feedback I got from different peoples experiences and opinions. I just thought I would share my story and help somebody else out.

Your a dumba##...first of all the guy in the front is ---, the maintenance men don't speak english, and don't fool yourself into thinking you have a life. More like the gates were broken for 2-3 weeks and worked for 1 or 2 days. Don't pay for an entry remote because the gates WILL always be open. Rats, bats, snakes...they have plenty of wildlife if thats what you like. The staff only throws the party so they can down the keg after they run off the residents. I've seen it first hand while working out at the shi$$y weight room. Bottom line is some people are blind to what goes on and if you only had to be in the front office once a month then good for you...that doesn't give you a good enough assesment of what is going on. Oh and what do you have against Katrina victims you racist stuck up bit##. Write back when you know what your talking about before you try to "help somebody else out".
