If you are looking for a place to live and want to enjoy...DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!! Ever since the new Mgmt. took over it is HORRIBLE. It used to be such a fun, enjoyable place to live and had so many extras. Now that the new Mgmt. has taken over..all most everything is gone. Yep, I think there is nothing left...I can't think of one extra that is left. The new latest scam is the water & trash bills....OH how I can't wait to get out of here...It's to bad this happened...it used to feel like a family environment...Now it is a place where I don't even enjoy calling home...and can't wait until the day I am no longer driving thru that broken gate.

Weird. We've been here well over 2 years and the water/sewage/trash were never included in the rent. You had the option of paying them with one check, but that's about it.
About the only difference in that regard is now they're not billing 90 days behind but rather are keeping current. Would have been nice to see a letter about this change, though. We see enough letters about other "critically important" things. You know, like leaving an empty flowerpot on your balcony. Or getting spam jammed in your door to refer someone; they would probably do better to just leave a few strategically located signs with this message, and save a few trees.
I'm still dismayed about all the extras they've cut back on. Rumor has it that they'll be bringing in some of their own extras. Time will tell, I guess.
I do have a sense that (some of) the staff might be lacking in experience, though. Whether experience in this sort of environment, or simply experience in working with people/customers. There are certain things you should and should not say, and some of them haven't quite figured out how to handle this properly. No, they don't need a complete staff made up of people with 25 years experience each, but some of them do seem a bit 'green'. Again, time will tell how that works out for them.

How much is Laramar nickel-and-diming you? They asked me for an additional $50 this month.
Trash, Water, and Sewage were inclusive with my rent when the property was owned by Greystar.

Nickel and dime is the motto of Lamar. The "Free moving Truck" thatunder Greystar only rquired the user to replace the used gas is now a $35.00 charge and reserved for new people moving in. Not for current residents to use" one more thing that has changed...WITHOUT TELLING ANYONE!

I will agree with many of the "negative" responses above but in defense of Laramar, I have not had any negative experiences with this new management company. I agree that there were several changes made that were not communicated properly upon Laramar taking over the property and I was informed thru neighbors of these changes, which disappointed me, but again every apt complex has their downside and you either live with it or move on. I figure if it doesn't make me miserable on a daily basis then it's no biggy. I have lived at Cypress for 15 months, love my apt and I have had NO PROBLEMS with maintenance and staff. I call with maintenance issues and I get prompt responses. I have voiced my opinion on several things and they welcome my opinion and I really do believe that many of these negative issues will be corrected. Just always remember, you only get treated as you treat others. Be kind you'd be surprised at the responses !!! Overall I love living here and plan to stay awhile.
