a Step-by-Step, COMPLETE review of this complex
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 6/13/2007
Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007
I just moved in January into my very first apartment ever, and with the reviews this apartment had, I was freaked out. However, I am SO happy I went with my gut and moved in here. I did a COMPLETE REVIEW of the apartment (basically I elaborated on the stars)....
PARKING
For a while there, parking sucked big time. BUT after revamping it all, there's more room! You have the occasional cement rock in a parking space, but they're really cleaning it all up. One thing I really like is that I don't have to park crazy far away just to have an uncovered parking spot.
NOISE
I have TONS of friends who live in apartments and everyone complains about the noise level. I have never EVER heard my neighbors through my walls... sure if they open their front door, you could hear their music or whatnot, but otherwise it's a very quiet community. The apartment complex also seems to be rather family friendly - while it's not overrun with small children, you will see kids riding their bikes around. :)
GROUNDS
The apartment grounds already look nice, but they're making TONS of improvements. They've been making some landscaping improvements (cool wooden/post fences, flowers, etc.)
SAFETY
One thing that I really worried about living on my own (I'm a young female), was that I would be safe. With the lighting on all the apartments, I'm not worried at all walking at night. Also, with the surrounding neighborhood (resort hotel on one side, million dollar homes on the other), there are police cars driving by fairly often.
CONSTRUCTION
As the apartments go, they are very quaint and not the usual 4 square rooms put together. They were all repainted and most have new flooring. The prices are decent considering what a NICE neighborhood the apartments are located in. What was a major highlight (for me) is that you can PAINT your apartment! As long as it's painted back before you move (or they have people you can pay to do it for you) you're good to go. Also, there are tons of windows so a lot of natural light if you have your blinds open. :)
STAFF/MAINTENANCE
I've read the other reviews and I feel bad for the people who got burned by the previous management. The management are very VERY helpful. A few months ago, an unexpected expense came up, and they were very understanding about late payments and have done everything they can to help me out. Maintenance is fairly prompt. I had a problem with my washing machine that wasn't fixed after a couple maintenance visits, and they personally scheduled a meeting with me so we could figure it out. Also, there is curbside trash pick-up and pest control every Monday and Thursday.
