I always give places the benefit of the doubt in regards to online reviews. People are always more likely to take the time and effort to complain about something over praising it. With maintenance items I know no place is perfect and that issues happen, but I thought I'd share my observations in my mere 4 months here.

- Lauren is the friendliest person working in the office. Similar to others I've had some negative and seemingly hateful experiences with others, customer service / interaction is by far a strong point with the staff here.
- Cable TV / Broadband Internet is outsourced to a company called Ygnition. TV is re-fed Dish Network Satellite, with horrible picture quality and even signal issues while raining. Broadband Internet is barely a shared T1 for the whole complex with almost instant service termination if any P2P/file sharing traffic occurs from your apartment, this includes WoW. The cost is more than Time Warner and ATT U-Verse, neither of which you can have installed here. Dish Network Satellite and a T1 pulling barely 1-3mbit of bandwidth does not a Cable TV / Broadband Internet provider make.
- The complex actually resides in Denton County and not Collin County. If you're new here prepare for a further drive to reach the Denton DMV and Tax Offices.
- You will rarely find a parking space near your building unless you pay for a parking space, which can still leave you far from your building. Parking is an issue in the area of the complex I reside in, paying for a garage and carport is the only solution.
- The alarm system did not work at move in and it took a month to obtain the part to fix this.
- The water heater went out after a month of residence, this was still during cold weather. After multiple failed attempts to fix it, an attempt/fix a day, it was replaced with a new unit.
- The fan in our refrigerator went out, this piece was replaced the following day.
- As mentioned by another reviewer, the windows are not weather friendly. During the cold weather our dining room/kitchen/living room was 10 degrees colder than the rest of the apartment, and now during the hot weather the same rooms feel 10 degrees warmer than the rest of the apartment. This unit is on the 2nd story facing west.
- Related to the last point, the air conditioner is on a majority of the time, previously for heat and now for cold. Two weeks ago I came home around noon to a hot apartment smelling of burned electronics. The air conditioner would not power on. After calling the office and not hearing back for more than 4 hours I called again to talk to a different member of the office staff who had no idea or record of my previous maintenance request. Within an hour I had the pleasure of interacting with a great maintenance guy, who works at another Sequoia complex and commutes to this one, who got me up and running. He exclaimed if I had any other issues to call him and he'd replace the unit, with a unit from a vacant apartment.
- Tonight I come home to a familiar odor to find my apartment 5 degrees higher than normal and rising. While I was greeted with the less than stellar customer oriented service from the office the on-call maintenance guy was here within an hour. He checks it out, replaces a part, finds out a new motor is needed. They will not be able to get the part until tomorrow, I inquiry about taking the part from a vacant apartment, even our direct neighbors just moved out, he says they can't do that. Even aware that we have a infant baby in the apartment, we must wait with it currently 83 degrees outside at 11pm, the low to be near 75 degrees at 6am, to climb back up to the high 80's around 12pm. I wish I got the former guys phone number.

In all honestly I like the apartments themselves, the size, features, and in my case the view. The customer service on the other hand could use quite a bit of a refresh. I've got 9 months left and my lease renewal decision is in their hands.

I love your frankness and agree with you completely!!! I live upstairs as well and my livingroom is hot all summer while the bedroom and bath are cold all summer. When the winds whip up my kitchen window rattles so much i can't stand it. There is NO weather stripping anywhere on that window.I wish I didn't have it as it's useless cause i can't reach it without getting my stool out and climbing on my cabinet top to even reach it to open the blind. I am in my 50's and disabled and I can't be doing that! It is drafty here as well and the wind whips down the fireplace. I have reported much and gotten NADA! I too like the apt. but not the help. I will be moving when my lease is up next year.

I agree you with you about Lauren being the friendliest - she is one of the nicest people I have ever met. Unfortunately, she does not work here anymore. :-(

This address is in Denton County not Collin County. I was told by the Frisco DPS office in person that if moving from out of state the license/registration has to be obtained from the office of the county my residence was in. This may of been bad information though. You can confirm with the office that the complex is in Denton county.

No you are incorrect. The apartment complex is NOT in Collin County. It is Denton County. We were told the exact information as the original poster. We were able to get our drivers licenses in Collin County but as far as registering our cars and tags, we had to drive to the Denton County office.
