I love the apartment itself-- the layout, the size, our view. It is perfect for our family. I love all the windows and the 'open feel' they give but I agree with the windows not providing any insulation at all. Unfortunately, we are the ones who have to pay in the end with higher electric bills.
As far as maintenance goes, everything seems to have fallen apart in the short time we have been here. The two main maintenance men that I have dealt with have been very friendly and very apologetic about our issues. But if these are known issues and are being blamed on the previous owners, renters should be made aware of these problems.
On to other issues I believe we should be made aware of before signing the lease, the cable that we have to use is a joke. Ygnition is not only a complete rip-off, they have very poor customer service. It is not fair that we have to choose between them and having a satellite. If this would have been brought to our attention prior to us signing the lease and sending them our checks, we may not have moved here.
When I call the office, I never know who I am dealing with as no one (besides Lauren) introduce themselves. I have called in maintenance requests only to find out hours later who ever I spoke with did not submit my request. Although there is a new guy in the office, I have never seen before this past week and he was extremely friendly and helpful. Unfortunate, I was not able to catch his name.
Parking is a problem. Some garages have areas where one or more cars can park behind them while others have no room at all. For those of us who have the garage with no space, we have to pay an extra $30 a month for a car port. If not, with the hours we work, we would have to park on the other side of the complex. I am not sure if the garages with extra parking spaces are more a month than those that don't have the extra space.
Noise has not really been a problem here besides the occasional unsupervised child throwing baseballs and tennis balls at other people's garages. Perhaps that is my biggest annoyance-- unsupervised kids, but I suppose that is not the complex's responsibility.
Not sure if we are going to re-sign our lease here or not but if we do, at least we know we have a new air conditioner, water heater, and refrigerator! And BRING BACK LAUREN!!!
