Not Renewing 15 Month Lease

It would be very wise for any potential residents to do some research on this property before signing a lease agreement. We, unfortunately, have had numerous problems from day one with the previous owners. Even after the many problems we experienced, ranging from living in a hotel for a week because the wrong apartment was prepared for our move in to waiting a week to have a smoke detector battery replaced, we entertained the thought of possibly renewing our lease with hope that the new owners would provide better service. Much to our disappointment, due to improper accounting and lack of communication, we have been charged money that we do not owe, even after providing documentation that proves our case. Even more disappointing is that the first day the new owners were on the premises they handed out at least 100 notices to tenants stating that they owed a balance on their accounts. In my opinion, the fact that so many accounts owed balances already indicates that the previous management was not keeping up with their books, and that the validity of these balances may be questionable. Also, do you really want to give existing tenants a bad taste of new management the very first day you own the property' Seems like the climb up the hill is becoming a climb up the mountain. I understand the business aspect and that the new ownership needs to minimize their losses, but word of mouth should not be underestimated. We are good tenants and have had a surprisingly good attitude about this community, given the multiple problems we have experienced. But at this point, we have decided it would be in our best interest to no longer continue living here and attempting to weather the storm of new management when we have already seen, in two short weeks, that we are considered dispensable tenants. The thought has occurred that maybe they are trying to purge those residents who they feel are not of value to this community. Well, if so, this community has a LONG way to go to be able to compete with much of it's upscale competition. A word to the wise, be a smart consumer and do your research. You might just pay a little more somewhere else but get much, much more value.

I'm leaving as soon as my lease is up as well. I love the area but I'm paying too much for "luxury" bathroom & window have not been fixed, have been requesting 4 months now. I have plenty of pictures and sorry to say but new neighbors are suspect!!

I'm keeping photographic "evidence" of all the problems I'm having here. Once we move I'll be writing a very detailed review and posting the pictures. Hopefully I will have something good to report in regards to how the repair has been handled, but based on the nonchalant attitude I've gotten from the office staff I'm not holding my breath.
