Despite the fact that I'm sure I'll be incriminating myself by posting this I'm going to do it anyhow. Hopefully the remainder of my time here will not be impacted by my honesty.

We moved here over a little over year ago, the girl who signed us up was nice and I liked her. Most of the women in the office when we moved here were rather nice and I had no issues with them. Things were a little slow maintenance wise, but the guys doing the work were nice enough as well. The new management company has not really done anything outstanding to win any sort of praise from me. I get more of a fake vibe from them more often than not. Again the maintenance guys are also nice enough, and I understand they're just doing as directed by the management company.

On to the problems..

--- Water damage. Our dining room has been ravaged by water damage since the start of the year. One entire corner had water logged drywall from floor to ceiling and even along the corners at the ceiling. The windows leaked as well, and I don't mean the window pane I mean were the entire window fixture meets the drywall where it was installed. There was and still is mold from all of this. The worst of the mold was "dealt" with by them cutting out the mold infested drywall, spraying something, waiting an hour then putting up a new chunk of dry wall and the decorative trim that was also severely warped from water damage. The water damage going up the wall and across the ceiling was painted over if even touched. You can still see it. I believe they caulked outside to fix the window issue. Of course this makes me wonder how much mold is growing in the walls.

--- Pests. I am well aware that all places get pests, and that living in an area were so much construction is going on is going to cause animals to be forced from their homes. That said I still don't care to co-habitate with rodents and insects. We had glue traps laid down and found one mouse carcass on it after having spotted a mouse in the kitchen a week or two prior, not to mention the mouse turds we found, and the few hundred dollars worth of food in our pantry that got nibbled on. Within the last 2 months we've also had to shoo another mouse out of the house. I've also found one dead rat and one dead mouse outside. We've also had a few silverfish, roach/beetles of some sort, spiders, and of course ants a few times. Flies both horse and fruit variety were an issue last year, and I'm not looking forward to a repeat.

--- Garbage. We had curbside pickup with the old management company, but the new one did away with it and now you get a $25 fee per bag if they can trace it back to you (yes, they dig through your trash and then leave a photocopy of the proof on your door). I can't say that liked seeing trash all over until it was picked up, but I know that getting to the lone dumpster can be a real pain. One single dumpster on the other side of the complex from my apartment. I choose not to load up my car with garbage, and with small children I can't just leave them and walk across the complex with my garbage. I think it was a little inconsiderate of the complex to just do away with it, but that's also my perspective talking. For the record I still find beer cans and random garbage littering the complex grounds. If they were trying to curb that they failed miserably.

--- Parking. My god it's horrible. I've had to park by a totally different building because there was NO parking left by my own. People have taken it upon themselves to park by the curb blocking parking spaces, and if your car is already parked have fun with the 50-point turn you'll have to do to get your car out. If your car is anything more than a compact like mine then you may not even get out when one of the large pickup trucks parks on the curb. Here's hoping that their threats to tow will be taken seriously.

Noise level is not that bad. I can hear my neighbors when I'm in my bathroom. I hope they can't hear me taking a crap. I've not really heard any wild parties or anything. A few times I've heard cars come through later in the evening with music too loud, but it passes fast enough. Although I absolutely detest that people that go hauling ass through the complex. There are kids who live here, and even I've nearly been taken out by a speeding car. I don't really see the need to go tearing through a housing area anyhow. It's a matter of respect and sadly there's a good handful of people who lack it. And yes, I'm the person doing 10mph in front of you ruining your day with my slow.

With the topic of respect I would LOVE to not step in dog crap when I walk on the grass. It's disgusting. they have baggies and cans to dispose of your animals waste. If you don't want to be bothered with picking up your dogs poop then why do you have it' I would like to be able to take my kids out to a grassy area to play for awhile but I can't because there are so many inconsiderate people. Please people for the love of all that is right and holy PICK UP AFTER YOUR PET!

I think slapping a coat of paint on the place was a waste of money that management could have spent on making repairs to issues in the apartments. Somehow loungers with laptops doesn't strike me as more important than removal of mold, but apparently it does to the management company. While this place may look okay I would NEVER recommend it to anyone. Save yourself an obscene amount of money and just rent a house.

*****UPDATE******

We're in the process of finding a rental home in the area and low and behold this place does not release your rental history unless you give your intent to vacate notice first. Now maybe we are a little uptight and meticulous in how we handle things, but we like to have a time cushion when we move and not rush around at the last minute. We gave the complex a letter giving them permission to release our rental history to our rental agent. Apparently that was not sufficient. I cannot believe that they make things THAT hard on their tenants. Clearly responsible renters and tenants is not something they value.
