New Management has no care for residents...

Years at this apartment: 2002-01-01 - 2004-01-01
I moved out of Sonsrena in January.
I lived there from June 2002 until December 2004 in two different units.
Fairfield property managment was very nice and pleasant to deal with.
New management as of November 1, 2004 is only out to get as much money as possible.
I installed two alarm systems in each unit I lived in within the community.
The ones that come in apartments are worthless.
I'm not just speaking of Sonsrena's choice of security systems.
This applies almost everywhere.
So upon move out of my second unit in January 2005, I was contacted within 3 days by management about the new ADT system I installed (w motion detector, keyless arm/disarm, and actual monitoring capabilities).
They said "Sonsrena's property" (the old alarm system) and more or less implied that I stole it.
I was told that I was "getting hostile" over the phone when the leasing agent called me.
I was told that she would discuss with manager and get back to me.
January 10th was my last contact with Sonsrena until a few days ago when I received a statement in the mail stating a charge of $150 for alarm removal.
This is only a bogus fee for them to get more money from me.
Why did they wait 3 months to inform me of a charge' Sonsrena representative claims that she "can't control the mail, but a notice was sent within 30 days of move out."
Also, when asked about all alarm systems installed in all units, I was told they are the same.
So what about the first unit I lived in' Is there a "Non-Conformity" system still installed there' I left it there as well as a $350 living room ceiling fan.
I'm increasing the value of the property and being punished.
Also, will the new resident (in my first unit) be charged for this bogus alarm replacement fee, even though the system was there when they moved in, when they move out'' Previous management would not have treated people this way.
It is a nice community but you can definitely live in a nicer Frisco community for the same price if not cheaper.
Shop around and get to know your new management staff!
Beware: This is my personal opinion, and may be harsh, but "There are a bunch of 'Barie Doll wanna-be's' managing the property now." So long Sonsrena!
07/14 (UPDATE)
After 2 months of battling with management and corprate headquaters of the owner, something gets done.
Let's just say I'm pleased now.
This was still a very long and avoidable dispute.
I'm glad they finally got things straight, but didn't need to drag this out in the first place.
All I can say is beware, and make sure ALL changes are addended in the written lease.
