We moved here from out of state, and my husband came out early to get an apartment. We signed the lease and 2 weeks before we moved in our apartment flooded. They assured us it would be taken care of before we moved in. The night before my husband was getting on a plane to come move us out, our apartment flooded AGAIN. We called several days later to see if the apartment had been taken care of and the manager stated she didn't know. She called us back and said the LR floor had been replaced and when we asked about the bedroom, she said she didn't think there was flooding there. Well, there was 3 inches of standing water in that ROOM! Our apartment wouldn't be ready in time for us to move in, so she said that we could move to a 2nd floor apartment (we specifically wanted 1st floor) but that it would cost $150 more a month for it. Wait, more $ for something we didn't want' So, I then stated that either we get the apartment for the same amount or they allow us to break our lease because it's not our fault that the apartment flooded. Her response was "Well, technically YOUR apartment didn't flood, it was the apartment above you that flooded". Okay, seriously' It doesn't matter where the flood originated, our celing was falling apart and the floor was soaked in inches of water. That told me right there what type of management we were dealing with. She let us out of the lease and then the office continued to call everyday to get our new address to send our security deposit to us. I continued to explain EVERY DAY for 2 weeks that we were looking for a new place, and would call them with an address, and they continued to call and wake me up every morning. So.. if you want to deal with management that doesn't listen, doesn't care and is clueless, by all means, move here.
