I loved the fact that the complex was clean and fairly isolated. It's in a good, safe neighborhood. However, the landlords are major-league JERKS. I moved out in July 2008 and left the apartment in near-perfect condition. However, once gone, the landlords sent me a bill for $400.00 for "cleaning," even though I had left the place nearly spotless. They also kept my deposit! The joke' I never really moved in. I had a job that kept me going between Houston and Dallas every week. I live in Houston so I rented at The Marquis just to have a place to crash when I was up in Dallas. Since I knew that I wasn't going to be there all that often, I barely moved into my apartment. I brought no furniture other than a folding table and one chair. I slept in a sleeping bag, too! So when I moved out, there was nothing to move. It took me all of one hour to pack up and get out. Still, the Marquis landlords tried to extort "cleaning" money from me. They also claimed that I hadn't turned in my keys even though I did. I refused to pay them one extra penny and they then turned me over to a collection agency. Oh, and even though my rent was $672.50, each time I cut them a check for that amount, they later came back and said I owed them more. This happened at least six months out of the year I lived there. They kept asking for more money, no reason ever given. When I didn't fork it over, they put a note on my door for everyone to see saying "You owe us money!"
Want to avoid yourself some problems' Avoid this place. It looks good and it's in a good, quiet neighborhood but the landlords will nickle and dime you to death and when you move out, they'll try to pick your pocket.
