I moved to The Vintage in January 2005. I got an excellent deal, and therefore presume the leasing agent screwed up the pricing. I was told the unit was not equipped with a washer and dryer so I purchased my own to be delivered on my move-in day. When I got into the unit, I love it! The A9 is great! But there was a washer/dryer!! And within 2 hours of signing the lease and paying the pro-rated rent, the office was calling telling me they lost my check. So it was already off to a bad start. I had paid $75 deposit for a second gate remote as well as added a pet while at the community. All was going well. I knew rent would go up the max allowed at the time of renewal because of the screw up before so I decided I could not afford to stay. I didn't leave because it was a bad community.

Well I understand that management changes and the turnover rate is fairly high, but I can't tell you how bad I was treated at move out. I was due a little over $300 as a refund for all deposits. They charged me for the second gate remote, EVEN AFTER I returned it! Saying that if it wasn't returned after 'a few weeks or so' they keep the deposit!! This wasn't anywhere in writing. Also they said I hadn't paid $205 in pet fees/deposits so I was being charged for that. Now I completed the pet addendum in APRIL 2005 and here it is JANUARY 2006'!'! What's wrong with this picture' The manager at the time (I cannot remember whom) was kind at first. Once the leasing agent couldn't help me with my complaint, I was passed on to the manager. I spoke to her twice with her promise to be contacted back with information. I never heard anything. I sent a letter to the office as well as contacted corporate. I heard from the regional representative from corporate once with my response afterward. I called and left numerous (5 ) messages over a 2 month period for the mananger to call me back. I was told she was extremely busy. So I just went in to see her. I was rudely told to go away. That the manager was too busy to see me, when she was hiding in the back. I know b/c she popped out a short second for me to see. I never felt like I was treated so badly.

It's a nice property, but staff (as well as corporate) was a nightmare. Staff on-site may be different now. I hope so.

When I read your review, all I could think about is 1) copying everything I give to the leasing people and 2) taking pictures upon leaving and also attending the move-out evaluation and taping it. I have no qualms suing anyone who steals from me. And that's the name of that song.
