Overall, the complex is very pretty. The apartments are nicely painted, giving a homey feel. Inside my apartment, the paint is peeling slightly from the walls and also on the cabinets. There is something wrong with my heater, but I doubt it will get fixed because I have turned in numerous maintenance requests since I moved in and most have been ignored. When the maintenance does come, however, they pound on your door for up to five minutes straight until you answer. I work a late night shift, getting off of work at 6am, and the management knows this; the information doesn't stop them from coming by as early as 9am.
The laundry room is nice and air conditioned. I haven't had any problems with my laundry. However, they raised the price of the dryers without notifying the residents.
People don't even ATTEMPT to pick up after their pets here, despite the many dog bags around the complex.
Parking continues to be a problem, because the resident-only parking is not enforced. Judy regularly parks in the handicapped spots that are reserved for our physically challenged residents (and there are some). I haven't heard of anyone having a break-in or anything else happening to their cars overnight. I come and go a lot at night, and sometimes I can barely squeeze my car through all of the cars that are illegally parked. Now, how would an ambulance or fire truck get through in the event of an emergency' Someone could possibly die because their "neighbors" don't want to walk the extra ten feet to their door.
Some members of the management are friendly, others act indifferent. The front gate is open as often as it is closed. Drivers regularly knock the bricks in the front entrance off because the turn is difficult to maneuver as it is on a curvy street.
When I signed my lease, I was informed that the management would reimburse tenants for the transfer fees imposed by the electric, phone, and other companies. I gave the office copies of my bills in September. It is now December and management assures me that I will receive a check "any day now".
Also, did they tell you that you have to pay $15 just to use the fitness center at the complex that you are ALREADY PAYING TO LIVE AT' The clubhouse is not open at all, and the price to use it is outrageous.
Overall, I do like the complex and my apartment. However, there are a great many problems that make paying the 600 dollars a month for 550 sq ft a little extravagant. For the amount of money that I am spending, I expect quality management, maintenance, amenities and apartments.
