Crappy Complex with nice looking leasing office.

I lived there from June 2005 until 11/01/2007.

After Hurricane Rita blew over a lot of the trees, they EVENTUALLY chopped them off and left the bases for people to trip over. This should have been a sign that things were not going to be good. Before I moved out, I took a pic of some of the stumps and posted one here.

The reason I moved out was because a) my rent was going up $50 and they were no longer including water and sewer. For $829/month SOMETHING should be included, especially since in Galveston many MUCH cheaper apartments include at least cable.

The clubhouse looks nice, but is always locked. Stuff is stolen from the washroom, but I guess that is normal. Parking is a pain seeing as parking regulations are not enforced. If you are assigned in the front lot, and you get home after 7pm, don't expect to find a space. Everyone and their brother parks there even if it is not their assigned area. Complaints to the leasing office fall on deaf ears.

My microwave broke and it took them a month to replace it. I don't know what landfill they got the replacement out of, but I think it was *new* in 1987. My dishwasher was crap and wasn't worth using. It too was ancient and was constantly breaking. I gave up turning it in because the manager Judy seemed annoyed that I wanted a dishwasher that worked. My fridge broke and had to be replaced in 2006. The old one had an ice maker, the new one didn't. The thermastat on my stove didn't work 50% the time, so cooking anything was Russian roulette and a fire hazard. I turned it in 10 times over the two years I lived there and eventually gave up because they never fixed it. Despite all of this, my rent kept going up, since obviously having crappy appliances and crappy repair people is an "added value".

Don't bother with office staff. The manager, Judy, is rude, arrogant, self-centered, and utterly worthless as a manager. She's only semi-polite when you come to drop off your rent check or renew your lease, but if you need to turn in a repair order or talk to her about a concern, she acts annoyed and gives you the cold shoulder. True, they're not paid to be social butterflies, but come on, at least pretend like you enjoy your job. Customer service is customer service; when someone's air conditioner breaks during the middle of July don't tell the resident you're busy with paperwork and for them come back later!

Anyhow, don't live here. You can find and apartment cheaper elsewhere on the island of the same quality with even some utilities included. SROlYjGrgm2VnM-SactV
