Not worth it

I lived in the Broadwater Apartments from 2006 until August of 2008. For what you get, the units are overpriced and not a good value in the least.

The appliances in the units are old and not well maintained (the complex was built in the early 1980s and many of the appliances date to that time). The cheap finish on the particle-board cabinet doors is coming off, and when I moved out, management tried to charge me for it. They also tried to charge me for a sheetrock damage from a leak around my fireplace, which I turned in several times (they would plaster and paint over the leak each time, but not fix it)

The repair guys are slow to respond, and often it takes two or three work orders to get something fixed. The oleanders and trees on the property are not maintained very well, and coupled with sparse lighting, they tend to make the complex feel unsafe at night. When plants or trees inside the complex die, they're cut down but nothing is done to replace them. Lots of effort is put into making the plants around the leasing office look good.

All of this is typical for lower-end complexes, but NOT for a complex that charges me $859 a month for a 1 bedroom!!!

Office staff is incompetent, rude, and doesn't seem to like to deal with residents unless its to take a rent payment. From my experiences with Judy while living at Broadwater, and from reading the reviews here, I honestly cannot understand why they have kept this woman around (unless, its a reflection of the management company's values). She's rude, inconsiderate, and and self-centered. Handicapped signs must also mean "Judy parkings here" because she doesn't have a handicap plaque but parks in them anyway.

Which leads me to parking. Parking isnt enforced and everyone in town has the gate code; however since it doesnt affect the onsite management (remember, they park in the handicapped spots), nothing is ever done.

If I was paying $400-450 a month, this complex would be OK. Low rent, low expectations. But most of the units start out around $700, and in my honest opinion are extremely overpriced and poorly maintained on the inside.
