After being loyal, faithful residents of this place,referring 2 of my friends to live here(ughh) my family and I finally found a house to rent. We went through the proper procedures, put in our 30 day notice in writing and cleaned the apartment until 1:00 in the morning the night before moving out. I did this, just out of good measure. We moved the beginnig of Oct. 07. And now, January 3rd 2008 we receive a letter from a collection agency saying that we owe Island Bay Resort almost $900.00. So I called Island Bay, and spoke to the supposed manager I asked to speak to, who, ummmm wasn't even the manager. #1 violation today, misrepresentation. So i ask her what this is about and she said it is because we left the apartment in total disarray, there was trash everywhere, and the carpet was damaged. #2 violation today, do not lie and try to discredit all the work that I did to get the apt. to top condition. Not only all the work we did, but also the $100.00 we spent to get the carpets shampooed. So she then hung up on me. #3 violation today, don't piss me off. I have since called the Better Business Bureau and started a claim on them, for all of the times I mailed them work orders and they were never taken care of and all the headache I am going through now. Not only have they pissed me off, they have broken laws. No letter was sent to me regarding this debt but the one I got today from the collection agency. They discredited the 30 day notice I gave them even though our lease had already gone up, and then lied and said we didn't turn in our keys. Lucky for me, my brother-in-law is a lawyer and all this mess will be cleared up soon. Hopefully the legal actions my husband and I are taking against Island Bay Resort will help future residents have a better place to live. I would never in my life recommend this place to live to anyone again, not even a crack head.

We moved there in 2005, and it was a great place to live... then, about a year later, it went to trash, and we got some really lazy, ------ ass managers and maintenence. It took forever to get things fixed, and the "managers" were always giving us the cold shoulder... or at least tried to. I'm surprised that they gave you crap about the apartment. We have a dog, and we did a half assed job cleaning her final apartment accidents. They gave us our refund back, but I guess it was due to the fact that my fiance' gave them hell... lol. We live in a duplex now, and it's so much better. Anyway, I hope you get things settled soon. That place really needs to be renovated... well, the personnel do.
