This place sucks. On the outside it looks nice; when you take a tour they seem nice; but if you ever have a problem with the place, good luck getting it fixed! The air vents are moldy, the appliances don't work, the electrical wiring is terrible, the cabinets are peeling, and there are huge energy leakage problems. The maintenance man is nice but REALLY slow and incompetent. You really have to ride the management's butt to get anything fixed around here. When we moved in we were missing a window--yes, the glass was GONE--and they taped cardboard up there for a couple of weeks until we finally got really mad and then, voila!, a new piece of glass, although really poorly installed. We paid about $180 a month in energy bills because the place sucks power into a vacuum or something. Across the street is section 8 housing, so there is always a lot of noise. Also there's a resident here we call GuitarMan who thinks he can play electric guitar, so he turns up his amp and his radio full blast and blows us away while he plays along. St. Thomas will tell you all about their great alarm system, but they never even set ours up and it's a pain in the butt to get your permit from the city, plus the neighbors who DID get theirs set up say they go off for no reason. The lake is pretty to look at, and that's just about the only good thing about this place. We used to live across the lake at Lakeside, and there's just no comparison. If you're looking to live on the west end of Galveston, go to Lakeside! They are SOOOOO much better. They take care of their property and have beautiful landscaping and management that just can't be beat. They'll fix your maintenance problems the same day most of the time.
