Honest, Objective Review! From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 1/19/2008 Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008   I have lived at this complex (now called Newport at West Beach) for 1 1/2 years so far and I have to say that I love it. I have been very satisfied with my apartment and with the service that I have received. I lived in the medium-sized one bedroom during my first year of graduate school and now my husband and I live in the largest one bedroom. I found both apartments to be spacious and clean. The office and maintenance staff are extremely nice and wonderful to work with. Just like with any office staff, if you treat them with respect they will treat you with respect. The people in the office know my name and my husband's name, they always ask how we are doing, and any work orders I put it get done within 1-2 days. I have never had any problems with them! The grounds are kept very clean and the property is typically very quiet. The only problems I have EVER had are: 1) The area around the pool can get noisy during the summer (but the manager is very good about monitoring the area and keeping it as quiet as possible), 2) Parking is somewhat limited but the property is relatively small (not long walking distances) and well lit, 3) The walls are thin (so are the walls in MOST apartment complexes) but we live on the 3rd floor and honestly do not get that much noise. With the 5% discount I get for being a student, the rent is very reasonable. Especially when you consider that living in Clear Lake will cost you $100-200 more per month. I will be extremely sad when we have to move from this complex! Mainly because I can't imagine getting a better apartment with better service for the price. The thing you have to keep in mind with apartment living is that nothing is going to be perfect! But as far as I can tell, this is one of the best places to live in Galveston!
