For a year there has been no cleaning of this complex. Droppings are everywhere. Don't put your hands on the railings. Not hygentic at all! Management does not respond to maintenance calls. They will write your trouble call on a sticky pad and then just bluntly ignore you no matter how many times you complain!!!!! Oh, and if you are allergic to animals....forget it! The carpet was not clean when I moved in. They paint their bathtubs. There is only one maintenance man because I guess they fired the others. He maintains the grounds well but anything else....he cannot attend to anything!!!! Odd smells from the A/C unit. Bats in the palm trees biting dogs. Dog droppings everywhere. Loud neighbors. Become your own handyman if you plan on moving here because sh#@ does not get done!

I'm not terribly sure how long you have lived here; however, I have been here for 2 years now and have never encountered a problem with maintainence. There had been one occasion when our A/C needed work and maintainence had to return a couple of times to figure out what was going on but they ultimately fixed it in a timely manner. Have you tried e-mailing in your requests? I usually go that route and maintenance have always come in within 24 hours of my requests. Additionally, I personally have never seen bats around here; however, if there are do you really believe that it is the decision of the apartment complex to plant/breed bats? I'm pretty sure nature has something to do with that and believe that if there are bats in the area it is not exclusive to our apartment complex.

There are no bats at Newport @ West Beach, & if there were, they would not be attacking animals -- that would be unusual behaviors for bats (please). The complex is great, good maintenance attention, excellent office staff. I have never been aware of any apt complex wiping outside handrails. I sweep my own outside area because of my plants. I am familiar with many apt complexes in Galveston, for the price, Newport is a good complex and safe.
