I have never lived at The Residence at West Beach; however, I have toured it several times before deciding to move to the Club of the Isle. I know own a home in Clear Lake just for the record and do not currently rent. Anyway, I found the fact that you could not get cable to be ridiculous. I have never heard of anything like that in my life. In addition, the office staff seems to be overly picky about every detail on an application, as though people were applying to move into the Ritz Carlton for a few years. As newlyweds and just starting out (with plenty of money) we still found the office staff nitpicking over rental experience and not enough credit established. My response in my head: *uck you. This isn't nearly as nice as the Club of the Isle and we had NO problems getting in there and the rent was nearly $850 per month. Now, the apartments - depending on where they are - are ok. The higher the floor the better. We saw a downstairs apartment at it was like a dungeon. Very dark and only had 2 small windows. Furthermore, the bathroom was wierd as hell - you nearly had to step in the toilet to close the door and there was a vanity mirror at the end of a small hall by the bathroom door. It was VERY cramped. The landscaping was nice through and I didn't notice any exterior problems other than the buildings are just old. If you want to move here, get ready for the Ritz Carlton application process and possibly a dungeon existence. Also, they are too overpriced in my opinion compared to other complexes.
