I moved into my apartment in Dec 2003. I provided the office staff a list of items that needed attention and/or repair upon move in, as is customary. In that list, I included notations of ellectrical problems, such as lights coming off and on with no one even close to the switch on the wall; french doors that would not lock properly; and other electrical outlets that would short out my small appliances. Maintenance came to check on these things a few days later, but nothing was done. I continued to report these problems as well as additional problems that arose, up until the week before "THE FIRE". Maintenance was actually in my apartment the week before the fire and witnessed the electrical problem with the light coming off and on without flipping the switch - still nothing was done. They did however fix my unproperly locking french doors on that particular visit. (Time frame now is 4 months after initial notification of these same problems.) I went to work the night of the fateful fire, and found out about the fire on the 5AM news while in a patients room on my rounds as a nurse. (The patient already had the TV on.) Noone from the office bothered to call me and notify me of the fire. I knew they had all of my contact numbers because they had to call me about the scheduling of all the "non-existent" repair work that needed to be done. I was not offered any assistance whatsoever by any of the office staff, and was refused info on the corporate office contact numbers. All in all this was the worst experience of my life, more so due to the way I was treated, in addition to losing all of my worldly possesions. I have since recovered emotionally and financially, but I will never get over the hateful way the staff and management have treated me since this happened. I would highly recommend against someone moving here, due to the circumstances I experienced. Some of the reviews obviously have a much different point of view than I. However, you should always consider the past behaviors and integrity of those you do business with - and this corporation has a piss poor track record in my estimation. GOOD LUCK if you try to go it anyway.

My mom lived in that building too. I had always wondered if there were ever a class action suit. I tried to ask, but couldn't get an answer. The firemen said it was caused by faulty wiring. Has anyone heard about any lawsuit?
