Although I havent lived at Village By the Sea, I have viewed the property on three seperate occasions. The office staff is very friendly nad informative. Looking at the "model" the apartments are very attractive and reasonable but when showed other "units" that were not damaged by IKE, much was lacking. Peeling paint with cabnets that are old and appear to be falling apart, counter tops that appear to be painted which is peeling in places, etc.
After having my showing I walked the property alone and noticed alot of shoddy landscaping (not related to IKE) or current construction. The pools are of central location at each end of the property and if properly maintained would be very welcoming. On all visits I could not help but notice the pools were dirty and not matained as needed. The water in one of the pools looked like 2% milk. I am rethinking my choices for my future home on Galveston Island although the location and pricing of Village By the Sea are within my range and desire.
With this said, Village By the Sea, with proper care and maintance would be an ideal "Home" on the Island.
