DO NOT MOVE HERE!!

We usually don't complain about apartments because they all have problems, but this complex has some issues. We just moved to Dallas and had to pick something. The Square Footage for the price was excellent in this area. The problems began as soon as we moved in. We got the keys for our apartment and as soon as I started to clean and what not I saw several roaches. Not those things Texans call water bugs, real roaches. I bought a can of Bangle spray from Lowes for $15.00 thinking it would prevent anymore, but it drove them out, in the hundreds!!! I knew there was a serious problem. I have never had roaches before and I HATE bugs. Anyway, I asked for a new apartment and they helped out very nicely.

Anyway after our new apartment, we did not get a mailbox key for 3 weeks. I would ask every other day about it, and they would tell me one of two stories. Either, they had to change the lock out of the box, or they had to copy the key. It was always, "I'll have it tomorrow!" I finally demanded and took off work early and got it. Even then they told me not to use it till the next day because they still had to change the lock out.

Next. We never have used the swimming pool. We moved in mid august and it is now October. It is always locked. They have 6 pools here and most of them are always locked. Our pool is now a green color and attracts so many mosquitoes you can stand to be outside at night. I asked about this several times when we first moved here and they told me they were waiting for the City of Garland to inspect their chemical level. They should be here tomorrow. That never happened and the pool got worse. I complained last week to resident services and they argued with me that the pool had not been closed everyday. Well, it may not have been. I only checked every other day. But I don't think it was open with green water.

Also, we had some maintenance complaints when we first moved in and put them on the inventory sheet and double checked with the leasing office as to when they would be taken care of. They still have yet to do that almost three months later. These are not minor problems either. Our mini blinds in the bedroom don't work, the dish washer is burning itself up (It is older than I am), the outside storage door has no door knob, and there is a black stain on our dining area carpet. There are a couple more, but I can't even remember without my list in front of me.

OH the gates!! Yeah, right. Only one works 10% of the time. When it does work, to exit you have to pull almost too where you touch the gate. Sometimes, it doesn't even let you out. You have to wait for a car to come in or drive around the complex to the other gates that aren't working. These gates are a joke. There is one gate further down Beltline that is always working I believe.

The tennis court is never lit up at night. I hope you don't want to play there after dark.

Now, after all of this, someone has broken into all of our mailboxes and we are no longer able to use them. It is one of those boxes that the mail man can use one key to open a door for several boxes. Well some idiot broke two of the mail mans locks and so now several of us have to go to the post office to pick up our mail during business hours. Well, I work M-F and don't get home till after the post offices closes, so I can only get my mail if I leave for work super early and drive by there (out of the way. The post office said they are waiting for the apartment community to fix this problem. It has happened several times before and usually takes them several weeks to install and new lock. They said they have given them several security options to follow and the apartment community has refused. I went into the leasing office pissed off two days ago and they told me it would be fix tomorrow. Two days later I and still waiting.

That is all I have for right now. I just think everyone needs to know what a joke this place is. Everyone I talk to that lives here complains about the same things. Good luck!!
